I found that there are some differences if the device is CAT os versus IOS. You should be able to use a snmpwalk of the device to find what is showing and then make the new template to match.

Hi all,
I recently built a Redhat based xymon server and installed devmon for the first time. Since we are a Cisco shop, the standard templates appear to cover everything we have. The problem is that some of our devices are not reporting fully. My networking guy seems to think it has to do with the version of the Cisco O/S and I think it is because he does not have all the needed SNMP modules enabled. Does anyone know if there is a minimum release of the Cisco O/S required for the standard templates to work? If not, is there a list of SNMP modules which need to be enabled available?
Thanks, Bruce
