Hi,
version 4.3.6 has been uploaded to Sourceforge a few moments ago, and should be available on the mirror sites when you read this.
This release is mostly a bug-fix release, although it also does include a few new features - most notable is perhaps the new "appfeed" utility to provide data for Xymon smartphone apps. I do not expect any more releases in the 4.3.x series, unless a critical bug is found. Work is now beginning on the 4.4 series, with the focus currently being on IPv6 support.
The list of changes since 4.3.5 is below.
Regards, Henrik
Changes from 4.3.5 -> 4.3.6 (5 Dec 2011)
- rev 6788
- Optionally choose the color for the "cpu" status when it goes non-green due to uptime or clock offset.
- Allow for "include" and "directory" in combo.cfg and protocols.cfg
- New INTERFACES definition in hosts.cfg to select which network interfaces are tracked in graphs.
- New access control mechanism for some CGI scripts returning host-specific information. Access optionally checked against an Apache-style "group" file (see xymonwebaccess(5) CGI manpage).
- New "vertical" page-definitions (vpage, vsubpage, vsubparent) for listing hosts across and tests down on a page.
- Fix hostlist CGI crash when called with HTTP "HEAD"
- Fix svcstatus CGI crash when called with non-existing hostname
- Fix "ackinfo" updates being cleared when host hits a DOWNTIME period.
- Fix compile-errors on Solaris due to network libraries not being included.
- Fix "logrotate" messages not being sent to some channels.
- Fix problem with loading the hosts.cfg file.
- STATUSLIFETIME now provides the default time a status is valid (in xymond).
- Critical systems view: Use priority 99 for un-categorised priorities (imported from NK tags) and show this as 'No priority' on the webpage.
- useradm CGI: Sort usernames
- New xymond module - xymond_distribute - can forward administrative commands (drop, rename, disable, enable) from one Xymon server to another.
- New tool: appfeed CGI provides data for the Android "xymonQV" app by Darrik Mazey.
Henrik,
The install seemed to remove my include line at the end of xymonserver.cfg?

I should also ask, is there a way to determine which ~/server/etc/*cfg support the directory option such as the one supported by tasks.cfg other than trial and error?
tasks.cfg:
directory /home/xymon/server/etc/tasks.d

All config files should support "include" and "directory" options. If not, consider that a bug and report it to me.

Hey All,
Is acknowledge alert working in 4.3.6? For me, an upgrade from 4.3.5 has acknowledge.sh returning "No acks requested" whenever trying to acknowledge anything.

Yes.

acknowledge.sh is a front-end to the acknowledge.cgi CGI program. You need to invoke it via the web GUI.
If you want to ack something from the command line, then sending a "xymondack" message - with the correct parameters - directly to xymond is probably the easiest way. But you'll need the ack "cookie" (the one you get in your email alert).

I'm trying it from the web GUI and the reply after hitting "send" is "No acks requested". If i downgrade back to 4.3.5, ack'ing a host replies with "Acknowledge sent for host XXXXX / test conn"

Silly me - this should fix it.
Will do a 4.3.7 in a couple of days, just let me check if any other "oops'es" show up.

Works like a charm, thank you!

Hi Henrik,
I wouldn't mind seeing this fixed since I just lost a bunch of hours of graphing data because I forgot it gets removed when you do an install. I was applying the acknowledge bug patch and fix and the line got removed leaving only the default graphs.
As always thanks for all the hardwork!

include xymonserver-graphs.cfg
Should be fixed in 4.3.7. It actually turned out to be a bigger problem than I thought, since the installer would strip all lines that it didn't recognize ("include" and "directory" among them).
