Need Hobbit Clients for Sparc Solaris
I'm planning to monitor Sparc Solaris machines, version ranging SunOS4.1.3to Solaris 10, but my pre-compiled client from Solaris 10 didn't work on lower solaris versions Hope you could send me your pre-compiled clients on all or any sparc solaris clients you have. Just send me the tar of !HOBBITHOME/client. Thanks a lot in advance.

i suggest you download the Sun Studio 11 suite (now free!) to build the clients for each version of solaris. the binaries created by SUNWspro are faster than the binaries created by its gcc counterpart.
also, binaries created for solaris 5.6 runs on all higher solaris versions. so i suggest to compile from there. for sunOS 4.x i use bb client to monitor them.
hope this helps.

Currently downloading Sun Studio...nice to hear that it is free. But I have no idea how to run the bb client binaries(i never touched bb). If you don't mind, can you send me your bb client binaries and small list of how-tos (namely configure and run).

Beware that if you make any commercial benefit out of the bb client, you have to pay a licence to Quest software. It's not free software.
I can send you solaris 6 and solaris 8 binary packages if you still need them.

If the bb client will work in my SunOSes, I'll raise PRs for them. Anyone have a compiled hobbit/bb client for SunOS4.1.4?
I can send you solaris 6 and solaris 8 binary packages if you still need them. Yes,please send them to me....I'm having a hard time with Sun studio =)

If your organization is willing to paid for precompiled hb binary, you may try TWW.
or
if you care to learn TWW's sb and pb tools, you crank out hb binary from
TWW's package source from here
