Hi
I think it would be great that Henrik or someone else puts up a blank virtual machine with snmp support preconfigured of the latest stable Xymon e.g. xymon4.3.2 and vmware. It can be CentOS, Fedora or anyother Linux based OS. This will help to make Xymon available to the general public and much easier to work with.
I know there is Debian one available. Its too old 4.2.0. The troubling part is upgrading/updating Xymon to the latest, also risky for non-advanced users. For Henrik or others is a piece of cake. Henrik you can do it on a regular basis if you find this worth.
Just my 2c
Thanks

Rather than 2c, what can you do to help the project? Remember that people give up their free time to provide this invaluable tool. Think about this before volunteering other people's time!

My notes for building a VM are attached. There is one available for download at SF now, but if you follow the notes you'll save the 500 MB download.

Figured I'd help out a bit. I created a guest that runs CentOS 5.6 and Xymon 4.2.3. Updated from the official repos and RPMForge 4/26/2011.
This is in OVF format. ESXi 4 you can simply File -> Deploy. VMware Player needs it to be converted to VMX. Should run in VMware Workstation.

I totally forgot to add SNMP/devmon to this virtual machine and just realized it. Would it be easiest for me to just keep hosting it on my server and sharing the URL or should it be something different?

Hi Josh,

I think it's best if You host it, since you are maintaining it.

Will do.
I like how "You" is capitalized, makes me feel like I'm important or something =P

Did I miss this?
Josh, are you saying you have a devmon template for VMWare? ESX or ESXi? I'm running ESXi 4.1. If you (or is that You :)) have it, I would very much like it.
Thanks, Paul.
