Thorben,
Next on your server try % bb localhost hobbitdboard You should get a list of hosts, tests, status, etc information.
I get a long list of hosts, tests, status ect.
Then on both your server and a client try: % bb server hobbitboard
Sorry, I meant substitute your server name for 'server', so from below, I'd guess: % bb 134.2.3.206 hobbitdboard
If you get something like: 2009-09-08 09:50:56 Could not connect to bbd at server:1984 - Connection refused 2009-09-08 09:50:56 Whoops ! bb failed to send message - Connection failed
I get this error message in my hobbitclient.log on the client and on my server i get this message:
systest6:~ # /zdv-system/xymon/server/bin/bb server hobbitboard 2009-09-08 09:39:50 Cannot determine IP address of message recipient server 2009-09-08 09:39:50 Whoops ! bb failed to send message - Cannot resolve hostname
No firewall (e.g. iptables) is running on the server and client.
Telnet from the client to the server is working:
telnet 134.2.3.206 1984 Trying 134.2.3.206... Connected to 134.2.3.206. Escape character is '^]'.
telnet won't work. If you have nc installed you can do:
% echo hobbitdboard | nc 134.2.3.206 1984
