Has the devmon --readbbhosts command run after adding these servers to your bb-hosts file? If not, Devmon will not see the new servers to poll them. Also, make sure the servers are returning the proper string to match Devmon to a template. You might have to add the MODEL option in to your bb-hosts file for servers which are not matching on their own.

As far as hosts are concerned, it doesn't mater what it is as long as it has some sort of snmp daemon or server running on it that answers snmp polls and that your community strings are correct and there is access.
Xymon will be happy if a devmon template exists for the device being polled, then use details from that host template to get what you've asked for within the oid files.
If no template is found, devmon won't poll for details and report back to xymon. It does not imply that snmp traffic or polls to the host don't work.
Your xymon server is on a linux box I assume ? Troubleshoot from there polling some hosts manually. If that's not doable, then find a snmp tool that works on windows that does snmpwalks or polls and have that on the same network as the xymon server.

Have you tried manually "snmpwalking" the hosts from your Xymon server ?
I'd first verify you can snmpwalk each device (or at least one of each type) from your server via shell doing: snmpwalk <-v2c or -v1> -c <comm string> host
If that's all good, then you probably just have devmon templates to tweak or make.

We are monitoring about Windows 2003, 340+ servers using the Xymon. We have various models like of IBM,HP and DELL. We have installed the respective client packages like IBM Director, HP Insight and DELL Open Manage agents on the client side. We have configured appropriate community strings. Out of which very few of them we are able to get the status. Majority of the servers were not able to do the hardware monitoring.
Checked the SNMP configuration at the client side several times, did not find any issue with it.
We have opened all the required ports for this one.
Can any of you help to get the light of this issue?
