FWIW, I am using RRDTool 1.3.4.
After patching, now during hobbit ./configure I get this (which doesn't appear to present a problem at the time as it continues apparently ok):

After starting hobbit, now I get "bbdisplay terminated by signal 6" in the hobbitlaunch.log, and my hobbit HTML page doesn't work anymore (Going to the hobbit index webpage I get:

Hobbitlaunch contains:

Additionally, the RRD files are, as before, created but never updated.

Perhaps worth mentioning - the hist directory appears to have events generated at first run, but never thereafter (other than the "allevents" file).
