I agree. Let's not rush into this. Remember, we live in a world where lawyers prowl, and they will sue you, simply because your logo looks a little bit like theirs, or uses the same colours as theirs, or makes people crap the same colour as their logo does. Hobbit worked fine for years without a logo, as did Linux, and many other products out there.
I am not saying we need to wait years before we come up with a logo, I just don't believe we need to rush into this. Sometimes, when something doesn't need to be done, it is important that it isn't done.

I have these mad(/awful) ideas sometimes so I might as well air my insanity
We have the red/amber/green traffic light colours for display
So some sort of traffic light logo with
X imposed on the red light - we don't want that
Y imposed on the amber light - we need to know why its amber
And MON with the O as the green light.
Someone with some artistic sensibilities could come up with the actual look.
