multiple graphs per test colum

We have situation where we are collecting a lot of rrd data for a specific test case (will be 16 data points). We'd like the ability to create two different graphs off of one rrd file (and one column on the hobbit page). We have a test called gt3_data that gets fed data from a script on a remote box via the bb command. This scripts sends up 8 different data values to be stored in the the gt3_data rrd. Currently we are graphing all the data points on one graph, but it is really ugly. We'd like to split it into two graphs, but we can't seem to find a way to tell hobbit to make two graphs based off of one column from the webpage. It doesn't make sense in our case to split the test into two different tests, but it does make sense to split the data into two graphs. Does anyone know if what this is possible? Sean

[hobbit] Oracle script?

Multiple Colums (for servers) on pages?

I have a bunch of workstations in which I am basically just testing the connection. These only have 3 columns listed with them - Conn, Info, and trends. I was wondering if there was any way to wrap this around (so to speak) at the bottom of the page and show 2 columns of workstations side by side. Just seems a pity to waste all that space and have to scroll down (lazy aren't I?) if on this page I could put it in 2 groups. Thanks.

MSGS Status Expire Time

Hello For the hobbit-client is there a option like the MSGEXPIRE in BB: MSGEXPIRE="30:60" # EXPIRE WARNINGS IN 30 MIN, PANICS IN 60 I see in Hobbit the MSGS column goes green after 30min, is there a option to change the MSGEXPIRE Settings in hobbit ? (Maybe oversight the option..) Fixs for the Clients and also the --source Option in hobbitping works fine . Thanks Henrik. Regards Roland

[hobbit] Solaris memory reporting

Curious thing I noticed today, with the 7-6-2006 client snapshot... I just compiled the hobbit client on a solaris 8 box, and everything is working fine. However, BB is reporting 83% swap usage (which is the same value returned by swapdf), yet the Hobbit client is reporting only 77% swap usage. The solaris machine has both a swap partition, as well as a swap file (in /tmp). What method does the Hobbit client use to determine swap usage? Since Hobbit reports more free swap than BB, I'm assuming that means BB is only looking at the swap slice and not the combined swap slice + swap file to generate the swap usage. Gary B.

Graphing Disk Space on Netapp

Hi Henrik, I'm modifying the original filers2bb scripts to monitor disk/inode/snapshot/quotas data on netapp storage via rsh and all is working quite good. Disk space and Inode data are also saved to rrd and graphed by the hobbitd_rrd module as well as the qtree quotas. With the qtree quotas graphs I've a little problem caused I think from the fact that the shares are for windows and there are spaces inside the directory names. Just to do some examples I create the same layout of the Disk spaces/Inodes used and i put directory after the volume names just to be in line with all the other disk statistics: Filesystem 1k-blocks Used Available Use% Mounted On /vol/g_home/App_Overview 2.0G 120K 2.0G 0% /vol/g_home/App_Overview /vol/g_home/Applicativi Rete 2.0G 127M 1.9G 6% /vol/g_home/Applicativi Rete /vol/g_home/AttFisse 10G 8.3G 1.7G 83% /vol/g_home/AttFisse /vol/g_home/Audit2006DSI 2.0G 68M 1.9G 3% /vol/g_home/Audit2006DSI /vol/g_home/BO6.5 2.0G 732M 1.3G 36% /vol/g_home/BO6.5 /vol/g_home/Common 3.4G 3.1G 376M 89% /vol/g_home/Common In the graph part I get problems with the line /vol/g_home/Applicativi Rete 2.0G 127M 1.9G 6% /vol/g_home/Applicativi Rete The first problem that I've solved was related to the first directory name (the left one) where with a " " in the name the hobbit engine will shift all data and do some odd graphing. I substituted the " " with a "_" in the first part and the graphs are now the correct ones but the directory names in the graph is wrong because it only get "Applicativi" in the name of the disk in the rrd. If possible I need to leave at least one of the 2 "Filesystem" or "mounted on" with a space inside because we also have some qtree with "_" and if I change all of them it will be more difficult to check where the problem is from people that don't know this behavious. Henrik, it's possible that the disk graphing routine will get the entire last parameters until end of line so that with "Applicativi Rete" it will get the entire string or that the hobbit program will convert the " " before doing the rrd if the problem is in the rrd engine? I've also another question, I'm getting data about snapshot directories to check the space occupied by them and it could be nice to have also the graph of those disk spaces. The format I'm getting is the same of the disk/inodes/qtree and the column is called snapshot. Trends graph for Procs only shows single instance

Hi, The PROCS status page shows a graph of multiple processes that have been defined to TRACK, but the procs graph on the TRENDS page only shows a single instance on the graph. Ports works properly and the definition in hobbitgraphs.cfg looks the same. descriptions in alerts

Hi, We've inserted information using the "Descr:" tags in our bb-hosts file that we'd like to be able to include in some of our alerts. Is there a variable that we can use in our paging scripts to include this information - or is there a way to grab this information about a host when sending an alert? Kevin Flavin
