how to see graphs for last week/month for perticular test ?snapshot report

hi, i have 2 problems.. 1)i want to see last month cpu utilization graph for the perticular host,how can i see that? 2)when i want to see snapshot report for say date 2dec09 7:30am,front pages(bb-html etc) shows time stamp of 2dec09 7:0am,but when i click to see status of perticular test of perticular host,it shows me status of 29oct09 12:40pm.how to overcome it? -- Pankaj V. Alternate view for Management

Our support staff likes having our monitoring system setup & organized by logical category/type. However, management is more interested in a view that is organized by business impact. For example: IT Top Level View- Hosted Services Corporate Connectivity Corporate Servers Corporate Desktops Remote Laptops Facility Connectivity Facility Desktops Management Top Level View- Email (Subpage containing all dependent hosts/services) HRMS (same as above) Sales CRM i.e. a listing for each "service" provided - possibly even maintained below subpages for each business unit Management wants availability and impact by the specific service and business unit impacted (10,000 foot view showing all dependencies), while IT is interested in the detail of the cogs/gears that make it all work. Do I just create a second listing for all of the hosts on a separate page structure? Would this generate twice as many network tests for the hosts that are listed duplicate times? Any suggestions? Thanks!

Memory report faulty

bb-services: regexes in expect string?

I have this defined in bb-services: [smtp-transaction] send "helo hobbit.domain.com\r\nmail from: <test at domain.com>\r\nrcpt to: <test at anotherdomain.com>\r\nquit\r\n" expect "220-mx01.domain.com ESMTP\r\n220 ESMTP READY\r\n250 mx01.domain.com\r\n250 sender <test at domain.com> ok\r\n" port 25 and a host that uses it in bb-hosts. This works great, except that it's tied to the host mx01.domain.com in the expect string. Is it possible to use regexes in the expect string, such as expect "220-mx0[0|1].domain.com"? [hobbit] xynagios for RHEL ?

Hi Martin, I just took a quick peek into the file and it is a perl script that says in the description: <xynagios> runs a Nagios check, and reports its output in a way compatible with the Xymon (Hobbit, BB) monitoring system. The Xymon test name is taken from the plugin output if it starts with test_name <OK|WARNING|CRITICAL|ERROR|UNKNOWN>. Otherwise, the basename of the plugin filename is used. A check prefix is removed for brevity. So it seems you can run Nagios tests in XYmon with this script. And since this is a perl script you might only need some additional modules that can be found in the Debian package libsysadm-install-perl and maybe there is a similar package for Red Hat too. rrd history chart disappears under conn, memory and disk after 24 hours

Hi, I installed and configured xymon-4.3.0-beta2. Everything looks fine. But there is one strange thing beyond my understood. The rrd history chart disappears under tests/columns of conn, disk and memory after running 24 hours. But I can see these charts under column trends. No time effect to the tests/columns of cpu and my custom tests. These rrd charts will stay there as far as time goes. If I add a new client, I can see these rrd charts under conn, disk and memory during the first 24 hours (or the first day). Anyone sees the same phenomenon? Did I miss something in configuration? Help: No graphs in xymon

I am very new to Xymon so bear with me. I am looking into a problem on Xymon 4.2.2. on linux with no luck. Looking for some hints on how to proceed. Graphs show up only in trends column but not in its own column. This is not a custom graph that I am trying to create but the standard setup by Xymon installation e.g., cpu, memory, disk etc. Only cpu has a graph but not any other Columns. When I look in rrd directory I see la.rrd ( for cpu ) and multiple rrd for disk disk,tmp.rrd, disk,var.rrd, disk,root.rrd. So I see 3 magnifying glass on disk page with no graphs to go with it. Any help appreciated, Usha Donthi

Running client scripts from alerts???

Hi! Are there any way to make XYmon run scripts on clients depending on alerts? I'm monitoring a bunch of services on windows 2003/2008 servers running bbwin, and I would like to run different scripts depending on which service is failing. Instead of just restarting the service, I would like to run a script to take care of the real reason of the failure. Are there any way to do this with XYmon? ________________________________ Mathias Carlsson
