Henrik and Fellow Xymoners, Just for you I have pushed off any real work for today just to get you all a first release of MAGMA the XYMon Web GUI Admin. MAGMA is an add-on web GUI for managing Host, Groups and Alarms on a XYmon 4.3 or newer system. You can find MAGMA at http://www.squidworks.net/magma/ There you will find the description, screen shots and features of MAGMA along with the link to download the source package. It requires MySQL and PHP5 and is very simple to install. All supporting information is included in the tarball. How does it work? --------------------------- It stores all alarm and host/group configs in the SQL database and rewrites the Host.cfg, Analysis.cfg and Alarms.cfg files causing the XYmon system to update its tests and pages based on the changes in these files. It will overwrite the files each time a host is added or edited making the process of updating automatic. To get the full benefit of MAGMA you should place all hosts in "central" mode, although this is not required, without it your management is somewhat restrictive (external test management only). logstash output for xymon

Hello i use http://www.logstash.net and xymon so i adapted the logstash output zabbix for xymon: http://pastebin.com/UQBJF7m7 Actually i have not contacted logstash team to add this output. So if you want use this you need to copy this code to logstash/outputs/xymon.rb. Execute jar -uf logstash-1.1.0.1-monolithic.jar logstash/outputs/xymon.rb to add this on jar file i have only test this on linux if you have any question please contact me by email Regards, Wilfrid

local mode client

One of my co-workers has installed xymon 4.3.7, and wants to use local mode for configuration. The display server is not receiving anything from his machine if things run normally, but when run by hand, xymon can send data from his server (Solaris) to the display server. The Big Brother / Xymon summit

Hi, Sean McGuire - the inventor of Big Brother - and myself managed to get together at "Sparkys Roadside Barbecue" in Miami last month. We had a very nice evening discussing Big Brother, Xymon, the foibles of our various corporate overlords, and generally covering a wide range of topics. In other words, I had a great evening - and I think Sean did too. Thanks to the Xymon users who donated "beer money" for the event, although Sean insisted to save those for another occasion. So if you've ever wondered what Sean or myself really look like, here's a couple of photos. It's Sean in the "barbecue-colored" shirt (his words, not mine). Regards, Henrik

Hello. Can I escape "<>" in log messages ? For example I setup to analize /var/log/maillog for "Over quota" message. Displayed string is: Oct 7 15:28:22 sendmail[4183]: r974LtLZ002344: to=, delay=07:06:27, xdelay=00:00:00, mailer=cyrusv2, pri=2116609, relay=localhost, dsn=4.2.2, stat=Deferred: 452 4.2.2 Over quota E-Mail is missing but it should be in "to=<somemail at mydom.tld>,". -- Regards, Sergey

not receiving alerts

I'm not receiving alerts on red and yellow's. I set up my server a while ago and received many alerts during setup and even after. But about a week ago I stopped receiving the emails. They're not going to spam, and I am able to send emails via command line from the Xymon server with no trouble. I've looked in the logs and am not seeing anything. Xymon is running on an Ubuntu v13 box hosted on AWS. Ideas? Thank you. ------------------------------------------------ *Kris Springer* * *
