LDAP Check causes xymonnet to hand

We are having issues with xymonnet handing on 4.3.12 (happened on 4.3.10 too). As soon as we added an ldap check which can hang (due to the ldap server being in a bad state), xymonnet hangs and goes purple on all remote checks. Nothing shows in the logs. Send apache /server-status page to server via client.

Hi, I know how to pull and graph /server-status page of apache from xymon. But my apache servers are into amazon vpc and cant be contacted by xymon. Xymon client sends data to the server. /server-stauts page can be accessed from localhost, is there a way where xymon client can send /server-status page to the server ?

Modifying scheduled disable/enable

We have maintenance scheduled for 14 servers in our environment this Saturday night. Knowing that the systems could be rebooted, etc, anytime between 9PM and 1AM, I've prescheduled these servers to be "disabled" from 2059 on Saturday night thru 0101 on Sunday morning. I'm now being given a directive to have these systems disabled from 1959 to 0101. I'd like to be able to modify the existing schedule, without having to remove and recreate them. As the GUI doesn't provide this option (only an option to cancel), I'm hoping that I can find a file wherein I can modify the schedule. I've found $XYMONHOME/server/tmp/xymond.chk, and tried modifying that file, but the changes do not seem to be filtering into the Maintenance screen. Is there a file that I can modify? VMware server stats

Hi guys. I currently monitor our VMware server using the esxi code found here http://xymonesxi.sourceforge.net/ But it doesn't give any hard drive info for the server or many other stats that it would be nice to have. Are there any other things that you guys use to get info from a VMware server? I tried something that someone else mentioned once before that uses SSH but I could never get it to actually connect to our server. Any other ideas? how xymon checks the file updates

I wonder how xymon come to know that the configuration file is changed ? I have one task where if a user uploads files from browser, one job should run. I have access to the folder where the files are uploaded. So want to know the logic how xymon checks the file updates.If possible I can implement the same thing :-)

Seeking confirmation of bug in acknowledge.c

It looks to me like we are missing a closing HTML ">" on line 332 of acknowledge.c > fprintf(stdout, "<center><font size=\"+1\"><b>No active alerts</b></font></center\n"); shouldn't that be </center>\n ? This came to light when I made changes to the std_footer and those changes did not render correctly on acknowledge.sh when there were no alerts. xymon 4.3.12 running on Solaris 10 SPARC Firefox 19.0 running on Win 7 -- Do things because you should, not just because you can. rrd-data.old

In /var/log/xymon on a Solaris 10 x86 machine is a large 1.3GB file called rrd-data.old, dated from a fortnight ago (15th October). Is it OK to gzip it or move it without damaging anything? I presume it's used for data history. This is a sensitive production server (that's running out of space, naturally). There's also an rrd-status.old file (111MB). Regards, Nick Pettefar

Number Of CPUs Error

Any ideas how to get rid of: /usr/bin/uname -X says there is/are 64 CPU(s) in the system, but NUM_CPUS is set to 4. ? This is on a number of our systems. Regards, Nick Pettefar

favicon location?

I'd like to find out the html code to use inside an iframe so I can display the live favicon pulled from my xymon server. I want to add it onto another site I have that others can quickly glance at and see the color of Xymon without going there. This is useful for those who are not in the email alerts list.
