And with Kibana reporting is easy. How it work ? Simple : With capture of status message (xymond_channel --channel=status /home/xymon/server/ext/capture.sh ) script encode status message in json and send as document in elasticSearch. I downloaded the source rpm and installed it. The spec file for building the RPMs contains this: %if %{without trunk} %if 0%{?rhel} <= 7 Requires: ntp %endif %endif So, yeah, it builds into the binary RPMs the requirement to pull in ntp. I'm not sure if that can be made into a conditional, to require ntp OR chrony. exclude devices from temp check?

Hi, I've been using the "temp" check from xymon's plugins (on Debian) and wanted to ask if it was possible to excluce certain devices from the check. We have "problems" with an USB stick, which is permanently plugged into one of our machines and which does not have any temperature sensors or readings, but sometimes xymon decides it now has somewhere around 200 ?C, which is of course not possible. Other checks like "libs" have dedicated yaml files which allow customisation, is there any such option for the "temp" check as well? Thanks in advance! Best regards Christoph Zechner

combine two combo statuses in one graph

Hi, thanks to this e-mail list, I was able to use combo status for my hosts, but now I face another challenge: how can I combine multiple status graphs into one? Scenario: a host (let's call it X) in my network is being monitored by two separate xymon proxy servers (let's call them A and B) and I use the combo.cfg file to combine the two tcp connections (from A and B) to one "conn" column. The two separate "conn" statuses from A and B work fine and have graphs, but the "main" graph unter my "main" host (X) is blank, because I had to define it with "#noconn" in my hosts.cfg (different subnet). Is there a way to combine the two statuses into one graph under the main host's entry? Thanks in advance! Cheers Christoph

dnssec monitoring

This may have already been answered but anyone know of a good method to monitor dnssec specifically? We had a DNS outage last week and xymon monitoring of all records and NS servers we had in place reported no issues or loss. Root cause was dnssec only was not passing (anchor issues, >512 fragmentation, etc) thx in advance, Danny

Xymon project status: let us know

Hi all. I've been relying on xymon for over ten years, and I would be happy to start it over now that sysadmin is not my core job anymore. Anyway, while user community is alive and kicking, seems that developing work on the 4.3 and 4.4 branches freezed at some point ?in 2019. Could you project leaders share with us some info on how and where the project is going to? Also the Devmon fellow project (which AFAIK shares the main developer with Xymon) would need some clarifying words, and merging the efforts instead of forking the project would be a better choice for all xymon users. Hello Xymon, You can now used *SNMPv3* with Devmon (version on github) - Net-SNMP lib needed - Overvall performance (only SNMPv2c and SNMPv3) is mainly *2x faster* with this lib ?? - We should be able to poll 500 devices per minutes (just? is an estimationm, be warned...edge case...) ?? - (SNMPv1 is always available with previous lib) Some feedback would be greatly appreciated! Both servers where running dovecot. I wrote an extension in perl using IO::Socket::SSL (and the same local openssl) to monitor the server offerng tls 1.3 and all is fine with it. For some strange reason, I can monitor a https web servers (running nginx or apache) offering TLS 1.3 without this issue but not imaps/pop3s.
