Hi All I added the --rss --rsslimit=yellow to bbgen and now it created a bb.rss file under my www dir. But the content of the file is <?xml version="1.0"?> <rss version="0.91"> <channel> <title>Hobbit Alerts</title> <link>https://hobbit.qwest.net/hobbit</link> <description>Last updated on Fri Feb 25 16:07:56 2005</description> <item> <title>No Critical Alerts</title> <link>https://bigbrother.arl.qwestip.net/hobbit</link> </item> </channel> </rss> Is there a way I can change the link to https://hobbit.qwest.net/hobbit/ so everytime it updates it stays the same way? Report in Excel format

Hi Henrik Is it possible to add a feature to be able to create report in Excel format? My director was wondering if that is possible. Looking forward to migrate to hobbit when it releases. unexpected green mails

Hi I installed hobbit around a week ago and am very impressed with it but I have a question. I am occasionally getting a set of emails from it telling me things have a status of green. These aren't after a state change as far as I can tell as there are no other mails before them. I am getting these once every couple of days, not at any particular time. Can anyone suggest why? ta Robin

Alerts problems

I am having a bit of trouble with the alerts. I have the following rule: HOST=% MAIL kevin at domain.com COLOR=red EXSERVICE=http RECOVERED My understanding is that this should work as follows: For ALL hosts: Mail kevin at domain.com if, the alert is RED only and if the service is other than http and mail when it recovers What actually happens is: I get ALL alerts, for ALL colors, and ALL services What did I do wrong? That'd be great. We are demoing this for the new director on Monday, so that would really be nice. Thanks very much. If not, we'll coble something together base on the responses we've gotten so far. The UNIX stuff is easy, it's been in place forever. The windows stuff is new to me (I'm a home dabbler in windows) as far as a prd environment. And, our windows admins have resisted this every time we bring it up, so I'm also fighting that resistance :). In any case, thanks for the reply... Status not available

I am getting a sporadic problem with the latest release (RC4). The bb-hostsvc.cgi starts returns the message "Status not available" for all services. After a restart of the hobbitd daemon, everything is back to normal. There doesn't seem to be a pattern on this one yet. Looking at every hour or so. Note that I am running on Solaris 2.8. - Brian

Availability Reports in RC4

I upgraded to RC4 and noticed that the reports module does not seem to handle includes in the bb-hosts file. The only host in my bb-hosts file is the hobbit server. The others are all in other files with include lines in bb-hosts. I used bbhostshow and directed the output to a file. I replaced bb-hosts with that file and the system works fine.

Alerts config

The docs for alert config using the PAGE say to use the page name. I found that if you are using a subpage, that you need the full path (PAGE/SUBPAGE) to make it work.

database backend

Any thoughts to a mysql or other database backend for reporting purposes? There was a brief hack on the bb source code, but no action from Sean.
