Hi, How can I test why it's not finding these events? [hobbit] rrd error messages

I'm still getting these errors. Does no one have an answer? I have searched the archives and found nothing. They are occurring for multiple hosts and multiple services. Thanks, Steve. Why no columns "cpu","disk","procs", "svcs" displayed for Windows 2003 clients on web page of hobbit server?

Hobbit server 4.2.0 running on RHEL4, BB client 1.08d on Windows 2003 servers. There're no such columns displayed , e.g. "cpu","disk","procs","svcs" for Windows 2003 (servers) clients. Only three columns, or "conn", "info","trends" displayed. no firewall between them. Some parameters dismatched? connection parameters on client are default as below: IP Port:1984, Timer:300,Logs Timer:60 But one Windows XP client looks like ok, almost same parameters. Any suggestion will'be appreciated. Regards, Case

Cluster monitoring (proxy setup)

The more I read through the archives, the more confused I am on how to implement this. Basically, I want to monitor 64 compute nodes that are on a private network. I do not want to have to install the client on all of the nodes as all I care about is the ping test. I have a main hobbit server that I want to merge the info from the cluster and from various other systems that I monitor. To work as a bridge, I installed hobbit on the head node of the cluster as it is the only system with an interface on both networks. On the head node I disabled all of the hobbitd modules and setup bbproxy to forward messages to my main hobbit server. This didn¹t work. After reading up on the bbproxy man page it looks like bbproxy is really meant to forward client messages on to a bbdisplay. Since I don¹t have the hobbit client installed on the compute nodes it doesn¹t sound like bbproxy will work for this. I am a bit confused on what actually does the network tests. Do I have to have hobbitd running on the head node in order for the network tests to run? If that is the case, how do I get hobbitd to forward information on to a different hobbit server? I am pretty sure that I have simply failed to understand one of the man pages or something, but I cant seem to figure out how to accomplish what I am looking to do.

client-local.cfg not propagating

Hello all, I have a client that isn't receiving the client-local.cfg information. The 'files' and 'msgs' categories are reported as 'clear' since there is no data on which to base a status. I've re-installed the client, uninstalled and copied the directory from a working client, and re-installed a working client to validate that it isn't a server issue. What would cause a client to NOT download this configuration? Any thoughts? Thanks

Main view alphabetical sorted?

Hi, I have a little question. Is it possible to have it sorted alphabetically? But not by hand in the bb-hosts file, I need it automatic. But I don't use group-only, I use always group-compress in my bb-hosts file. Is this possible? Kind regards, Tobias Riewoldt

I'm getting the error "could not lock RRD"

Hi I've just installed hobbit 4.2.0 on an archlinux box with rrdtool version 1.2.23-1. Looking at the logs I'm getting the following error every 30 seconds or so as it tries (I assume) to create the graphs: 2007-06-22 19:24:55 RRD error updating /var/sites/hobbit/non-secure//data/rrd/xxx/procs.rrd from 192.168.0.2: could not lock RRD I've googled and searched the archives but can't find any other mention of this error. Can anyone suggest a solution? Thanks Robin
