Newbie question: have (looks like) valid rrd data, can't get the graph to appear in the status page

Can someone see what I'm missing? CLIENT vs. NAME

Long time ago, servers were set up with "wrong" name. To correct hobbit display "NAME" variable was used in bb-hosts file for these servers. But I notice that email alerts are sent out with "wrong" name. If I used correct name in entry and used "CLIENT" variable to list name that would be seen by Hobbit server, would email alerts go out with correct name? And, if I make that change now, does that screw up any of the old saved data?

Discussion regarding all in one patch for hobbit 4.2.0

I have to question about the all in one patch for hobbit 4.2.0. On sourceforge.net, is the Ubuntu debian packages for hobbit 4.2.0 had the all in one patch applied already? If not, they are useless, right? Because I have to download source code, apply the patch, make and install hobbit again to fix the major issues such as memory leak for alert module, etc. I've installed and configure the hobbit using the Ubuntu .deb package, then found out that the patch should be applied. It looks like the patch only comes in the format to apply on source code? Please advice! Thank you very much! Hi, I'm using the bb command to extract all my machines disk information with the command: /home/mon/server/bin/bb x.x.x.x "hobbitdboard test=disk fields=hostname,testname,msg" > out.disk I have a column test called "bkp_disk" and when I run the line above the information from this test "bkp_disk" appears on the report of the hobbitdboard instead of only the "disk" column, the 2 "tests" appears. Another thing that I'm trying is to change the output of the hobbitdboard msg. In the manual of bb we have : The ackmsg, dismsg and msg fields have certain characters encoded: Newline is "\n", TAB is "\t", carriage return is "\r", a pipe-sign is "\p", and a backslash is "\\". My question is if there is a way to sed, read, or "decode" the "\n" to the newline format? Thanks in advance, Mario.

Best way to do interface graphs?

CLASS= not working in hobbit_clients.cfg as documented?

Running Hobbit 4.2.0 with allinone patch on CentOS 4 i386... I have been trying to get CLASS: definitions to work with client_local and hobbit_clients configurations, with partial success. It works well with the client_local configurations, but seemingly not at all with lines in hobbit_clients.cfg. I have a host in bb-hosts defined like the following: 10.1.1.1 owl # CLASS:test conn ssh I've added a definition in hobbit_clients.cfg like the following: HOST=owl PROC portmap PROC /sbin/mingetty CLASS=test (This is actually an add to an existing definition as a proof of concept). However, the monitoring for mingetty never shows up. Have also tried moving the CLASS= to the HOST= line, and seems to prevent the entry from being seen at all. Does anyone have any experience with CLASS= working in hobbit_clients.cfg? It's documented to be there, but does not seem to pick up on any of the CLASS: definitions I've tried in bb-hosts. URL testing - redirected output.

Hi All, I need to monitor some webpages and they all return a redirect page and adding a JSESSION varialble to the URL. Now all the tests are post and done via the hobbit buildin routine. However this is not enough anymore just to check that a return page is given, so I have been looking at urlplus and the contchk.sh scripts to give me a deeper monitoring. However I am not seeing how they can do a post same as the buildin hobbit test can ? I looked at the list and saw someone have made some scripts that would to a deeper query or similar and this is the requirement I am facing, but I have to login using a post form. Can anybody give me directions on how to make urlplus do the post or how I can monitor this ? Br Thomas
