how to get CVS connection to Hobbit?

I can't see how to get a CVS connection to get the latest code for Hobbit. Maybe the instruction is in plain sight, but I can't see it. Where's the repository and whats the login? thanks John

******Sorry for being unclear. Yes, Buchan the eventual product would monitor data on the embedded device, and use Hobbit or some equivalent, as a platform for display. It looks to me like Hobbit is powerful/easily customizable for the display part, but the connection-to-data-source part uses polling, which may be fine for some data, but other data in our world should be pushed down to the humans. For this task I don't care what the data is, I am just making a proof-of-concept. No I don't need the embedded device to act as a server. I am content with a separate Hobbit server. So on the Hobbit server I need to get incoming data from a socket and put it into the Hobbit display, then send it down to the browser. I think I can use a Flash-based model to push data to the browser. This means including a small flash app in the web page that Hobbit assembles, like several chat servers do. So I want to piggyback on the standard Hobbit server by adding to the Hobbit web page with a flash applet that can push data down to the browser. This means I am asking about adding html/flash and data to the Hobbit server web page. What I am asking for is, advice, suggestions, 'I did it already this way' and so forth. I am also asking if there is a socket system in version 4.3 of Hobbit that would be useful. Hoping this makes more sense than the first time... John On Friday 20 June 2008 20:24:29 John P. Or, are you trying to use it to monitor specific hosts and report to the hobbit server? BBWin [file:] and epoch time

I have the [file:] set up in central mode on our BBWin V.12 client and it returns the following client data to the Hobbit server. [file:c:\Alligate\AAATEST] type:0x00020 (file) mode:777 (not implemented) linkcount:1 owner:0 (not implemented) group:0 (not implemented) size:0 atime:1214222069 (2008/06/23-11:54:29) ctime:1213796626 (2008/06/18-13:43:46) mtime:1214222069 (2008/06/23-11:54:29) On my hobbit server hobbit-clients.cfg I have FILE c:\Alligate\AAATEST red MTIME<88200 The YYYY/MM/DD-HH:MM:SS atime, ctime and mtime are local time. During testomg I noticed that the red icon would come on before I had expected. I decided to do a little checking and using the epoch time calculator at http://www.esqsoft.com/javascript_examples/date-to-epoch.htm. If I enter 2008/06/23-11:54:29 it returns the epoch time of 1214236469, which does not match mtime epoch time above. If I enter the epoch mtime 1214222069 I get Mon Jun 23 2008 07:54:29 GMT-0400 (EDT) which does not match the date. If I enter epoch time 1214236469 I get Mon Jun 23 2008 11:54:29 GMT-0400 (EDT) Things seem to be off 4 hours. It seems that the YYYY/MM/DD-HH:MM:SS time is local but the epoch time is GMT. Running into an issue with the badconn parameter. I have my settings set at "badconn:1:1:5" Which should make the test go read after 5 minutes and it worked all the way up until a week or two ago. I am trying to find out why hobbit is not following the "badconn:1:1:5" in the bb-hosts file. -Josh

install hobbit on Mac OS X leopard

I have compiled and install Hobbit on my Mac Server and have started it manually and it works just fine. I now need to get it to start at boot and I am not to familiar with the launchd program and the associated files. Can someone point me to some documentation on how to do this or give me the steps an the plist files that I will need. Receiving HTTP 404- Page not found in Hobbit

The messages "The page cannot be found" and HTTP 404 are being received when selecting Main View and All non-green view from Views on the Hobbit display. However the page for Critical systems displays properly. After researching the problem I found the following: 1. URL of Main View : http://domain-name/hobbit/html URL of All non-green view: http://domain-name/hobbit/bb2.html URL of Critical systems: http://domain-name/hobbit-cgi/hobbit-nkview.sh 2. On the local zone of hobbitmon, the directory of the web pages is /usr/local/hobbit/server/www. 3. In file /usr/local/hobbit/server/etc/hobbitserver.cfg, the root URL parameter - BBSERVERWWWURL is set to /hobbit. 4. The current configuration in file /usr/local/apache2/conf/httpd.conf, the DocumentRoot parameter is set versus using the Alias. Excerpt from /usr/local/apache2/conf/httpd.conf # NB: The "Alias" line below must NOT be used if you have # the Hobbit webfiles as the root URL. In that case, # you should instead set this: # #Alias /hobbit/ "/usr/local/hobbit/server/www/" DocumentRoot /usr/local/hobbit/server/www 5.
