how to know that server has rebooted other than cpu yellow?

Conn test fails for everything periodically

Since the install date I have had an issue with each and every conn test having a problem at least once a day. The conn will complain it is down for anywhere between a few seconds up to a minute or two. I am quite confident it isn't network related as it effects the conn test of the Hobbit server it self - running 4.2.0. It's really starting to get old. It's running a pretty good NIC - Intel Pro 100 S I believe - Ethernet controller: Intel Corporation 82557/8/9 [Ethernet Pro 100] (rev 0c). I have left the default and tried 150 ms between pings - hobbitserver.cfg:FPING="/usr/sbin/fping -i150" Here is what the bbd/bbgen/bbtest/hobbitd test has for conn's full history, at the top and bottom. Any ideas and things to test would be appreciated! Troubleshooting Client Process

Hey all, I have six or eight Redhat AS3 clients that are being troublesome. I've defined a client process in clientlaunch.cfg as: [mmsclient] ENVFILE $HOBBITCLIENTHOME/etc/hobbitclient.cfg LOGFILE $HOBBITCLIENTHOME/logs/hobbitclient-mms.log CMD $HOBBITCLIENTHOME/scripts/exec_client.sh INTERVAL 5m On the problem servers, it'll launch once at startup (/etc/init.d/xymon-client start) and then never loops back through. Does anyone have some pointers on where to go to troubleshoot this? Thanks! --Patrick

red alert on empty second controller and bb-omsa-raid

Hi ! I've got red alerts on machines with a second empty controller, this means, only on the first controller are disks connected ... This undermines the real alerts ... :-( Any hints are welcome.. :-) thanks & cheers Martin

Hi, Is anyone working on a RHEL/CentOS spec file to build an rpm package? If so, is it being integrated into the xymon source tree? If not, does anyone have one that I could use (at least as a starting point) to build an rpm for xymon 4.2.3 on CentOS 5.3 x86_64? Thanks, Russ

Custom alerts for different MSGS

Hello, We are using Xymon / Hobbit 4.2 and a mix of BBWIN 0.12 and Big Brother Client 1.08d for our Windows systems. We are looking into how to only MAIL for NETLOGON events on our domain controllers. Is there a way that we can specify for certain event messages (MSGS) to be sent by email and not both mail and pager? When writing hobbit-alerts.cfg rules, we have macros for pagers and for email. We wish to suppress certain types of MSGS from going to the pager and send those to email, but want certain types of MSGS to go to the pager. Has this been done before? some clients ssh status is purple
