Does anyone know if there is a client for the mainframe, or some way to monitor when a mainframe is up and the status besides a basic ping test? custom graphs

I decided to delete all the rrd files for this test, and after the next run (hourly). The data files are now filled out correctly. On to the graph... I've had a script that pulls the %mem of certain processes on various machines. Right now, I have 3 separate groups of machines with different processes being watched. The purpose is to track memory leaks. Previously, I had the script just put out a ps -eo 'pid,%mem,cmd' for the desired processes. Then others wanted a graph, so I've reformatted the output to be just a keyword (either the process name or a significant field of the arguments of the command). I get something that looks like this now: Process Memory Usage SA: 6.5 MBIM: 2.4 OI: 4.1 Process' alert levels are defined in /usr/local/etc/procmem.cfg When levels are exceeded, restarting of the process to free memory is recommended xymProcMem,v 1.7 2014/07/07 20:37:17 ptroot Exp ptroot $ My first iteration, I used <br> to separate the lines. That was a mistake, the source of the html showed them all on one line. I've changed to \n, and that to me should provide the proper output. xymon-client on xymon server sending to other xymon servers I have this working in one environment with 3 xymon servers, but just set up another 2 servers in a locked down environment. To have data sent to other xymon servers, all I had to do was change the XYMSERVERS= line in xymonclient.cfg in the /home/xymon/client/etc folder Running 4.3.11 in my normal setup, and 4.3.10 in the new one. RHEL 6 in the new setup and Centos 5 in the old one. I am not seeing anything from the either new server in ghost client report except 10.24.13.31 jsppvlscix01 1:16 , with a blank hostname , or in the defined server in hosts.cfg. ping is working between the 2 new servers. Is there anything else that needs to be done for the xymon client to work on the xymon server ? I checked my working and new tasks.cfg and they appear to be the same. I also checked that port 1984 is open on each via telnet. Any hints appreciated on how to do further testing. Thanks !

Perl ipc and bsq option

hello I'm trying to use the new Posix MQ feature of the lastest Xymon version with devmon. The first step is talking to xymon with ipc in perl ... So the fisrt step will be to find the correct msqid. As I understand the C xymon code I wrote this. Hi all, I'm actually working on a migration from bb to xymon (xymon Package from the Debian Repository). While migrating the alerts from bb to xymon I've got the problem, that in bb it is possible to define two periods to notify (e.g. from 12 am to 6 am and from 9 pm to 11:59 pm) but I found no information if it is possible to do so in xymon as well. Is there a possibility to define two notification times or can I do it the other way round and define a time, where I get no notification ? If it is possible, how can I do that? Thanks for Help! As a side note: I would suggest to use the newest deb packages from sf.net on the server -- the pkgs from the Debian repos are fine for the clients. xymonnet crashes adding a https test

Hi all, I'm facing a strange crash in xymonnet. I alrady have some https tests configured in hosts.cfg, but when I add the test for a Red Hat Enterprise Virtualization manager web server xymonnet crashes.
