Hi all, I'm building the latest xymon into my own RPM, and on CentOS 6. The client works fine, but I have some issues with the server. There are a lot of variables, that may be influencing my issues. My current environment is RHEL 5 and CentOS 5. But I want to get more up to date. Building an RPM for 4.3.21 on CentOS 5 proved impossible too much work for too little benefit because of rrdtools newer versions not compiling on CentOS5 and such. Thus the move to newer OS. I'm also trying to use selinux. I'd always had it off or in permissive before, because I didn't want to deal with it. I'm making the effort now. We'll see how that goes. So sorry for the roll up. Here are the issues: 1) Disabled tests do not have the blue icon. The non-green page is showing the tests that are red or yellow. But if you click on the test, the page displays properly, blue background and the disable message is there. Also on the main pages, the icon remains red or yellow. 2) Some pages, notably on the new server, I get "Status not available" on a number of tests. They range from my own scripts to xymonnet. Other tests do work, like the client built in ones. 3) Cleared tests aren't clearing. This may well be the same issue as disable tests. I have a couple of tests that were red, but came green. But the page icon remains red. Any ideas? I've fixed the selinux messages that come up in /var/log/messages. Thanks, Paul. Xymon Yellow alerts not working

Hi, I have many alerts on my xymon working fine with the color red. I have configured some yellow color alerts, but they are not working. I check the notifications.log file and it does not show anything for yellow alerts. Hello, we do this that way, that using a script in cron, at a certain time we copy alerts.cfg to alerts.cfg.work and copy an empty alerts.cfg.empty to alerts.cfg. If the file alerts.cfg is empty, there's no reason for Xymon to do any alerting. After this certain time, we copy the original file alerts.cfg back in place. Error running make install

When I am running the make command to install Xymon 4.3.21 I get the following error. Yes, bbwin was uninstalled and re-installed a couple times, along with the upgrade from .12 to .13... I'll check for other versions of the dll when I'm back in the office and reply with my findings. Is bbwin reinstalled after service pack or other updates on the exchange server? Try search for MSVCR100.dll though your system to see how versions is located in path. If an older or newer version is found in path before system32 it could be there your error is coming from. The bbwin client is crashing after the disks were added to the exchange server, which is causing the service test to turn purple on the xymon server. There are 5 other exchange servers with the exact same configuration that aren't having a problem. There's a warning that bbwin can't find a dll in the windows event log, but as I'm not a wintel admin here, I don’t have access to it. If it's of interest to anyone, I can get it from them if necessary. I suggested to the techs working the issue that they look into the xymonpsclient to see if it resolves the issue. checking alerts file

I thought there was a alerts file checking command that would check it for syntax etc ... am I dreaming that? anyone know of some easy way fo checking that the alerts file "makes sense" - this to easily check there isn't some silly typo/stuff up half way down that breaks all the subsequent alerts. ta! ian

Disk test in Windows appending a ' with a large number of disks (over 150), which breaks the test. For some reason, we added additional disks to our exchange servers and hobbit is appending a single quote (') to the disk names and the disk test is broken because of it. Anyone have this happen to them and know of a solution?
