Running Xymon v4.3.21 on RHEL 6.4 - unable to get info or clientlog status data (was hoping to grep the OS field in info and/or the osversion field in clientlog). Other test names work fine. Attempts w/results: [xymon at myhost ~]$ /usr/local/xymon/server/bin/xymon 127.0.0.1:1984 "clientlog myhost.local.info" [xymon at myhost ~]$ /usr/local/xymon/server/bin/xymon 127.0.0.1:1984 "clientlog myhost.local.clientlog" [xymon at myhost ~]$ /usr/local/xymon/server/bin/xymon 127.0.0.1:1984 "xymondlog myhost.local.info" [xymon at myhost ~]$ /usr/local/xymon/server/bin/xymon 127.0.0.1:1984 "xymondlog myhost.local.clientlog" Am I doing something wrong, or is this not possible? Xymonnet on single host.

I have xymonnet set to run weekly via crondate. Now I have the need to monitor a single host ping and ssh every 5 minutes. How would I go about doing this ? Thanks

Hello Xymon support, This is the first time I got a chance to work on Xymon monitoring tool, Recently I got a task from my manager on separating the servers and arrange them in for each and individual regions. I need to create a dashboard with multiple tabs. Do we have any Document or guidelines to do this. Please help me out on this. Your help is highly appreciated on this. Hi, is there a way to monitor file handle usage - how many open files against the maximum allowed, by any chance? - just had a request from a user for this and couldn't find a reference in the documentation or the Google thing. Regards, Nick

https tests through a proxy

Hey, Has anyone gotten Xymon http tests to work through an proxy server? I have to be able to set the proxy server for ALL https traffic and Xymon just doesn't seem to be able to handle it. I asked a while back and finally got to do try setting it up but the current recommendation has the severe shortcoming that it doesn't work for https (according to the doc) and I REALLY don't want to have to add a proxy definition to every single http test. I've tried just adding "export http_proxy=myproxy:port" to the startup scripts but it seems to be ignored. Seems like an unfortunate oversight in Xymon if it's not user error. We can test for a specific ssl version but not use a proxy server? I'm having trouble buying it (hence the likelyhood of user error). thanks =G=

All Xymon rrd graphs suddenly haywire

I'm getting another set of massive spikes. Everything that updated in the last couple of days has this: rra[3].cf = "AVERAGE" rra[3].rows = 864 rra[3].pdp_per_row = 288 rra[3].xff = 5.0000000000e-01 rra[3].cdp_prep[0].value = 2.8577631848e+94 rra[3].cdp_prep[0].unknown_datapoints = 0 Yep, "e+94". The above sample is the clock offset on my Linux desktop. Similarly disk, inode, memory, users, etc. This is also happening with homegrown tests. For example, a script that does this: /usr/bin/time -p openssl s_client -connect $COSERVER to get the timing statistics for a connection. I'm not getting alerts saying disks are umpteen bazillion % full, which is good. It also suggests the stupid numbers are creeping in somewhere in the RRD backend. I'm also getting graphs from one server showing up under another server. I.e. on a disk page that shows just the standard df listing with /, /usr, /var, /home, /tmp I'm seeing graphs for filesystems that exist on a different machine. I don't know if that's related though. Multiply windows client behinde router

Why does the cipher list in sslcert test show disabled ciphers?

Why does the list of ciphers in the "sslcert" xymon test show ciphers that are disabled on the server? For example, we have disabled RC4 ciphers on our servers, and confirmed using the "Qualys SSL Labs" server test, that they are turned off. However, xymon still shows them. g
