Good day - Is there anyone on the list running a version newer than 4.3.8 on an HP-UX 11.31 platform? I'm seeing some odd behavior with forking, when starting up the channel handlers, and would like to compare notes. Thanks! -Lynn

libpcre issues with Apache / xymon

Hello Everyone, I was able to configure Xymon 4.3.8 on AIX 7.1. First time everything ran fine and i was able to access /xymon and /xymon-cgi/ paths via apache installed on same server. However, now i am encountering following error on trying to access cgi-bin path. Apache logs show following error - AH01215: Could not load program /home/xymon/server/bin/svcstatus.cgi:, referer: http://servername/xymon/ AH01215: \tDependent module /applications/apache/ 2.4.4.0//lib/libpcre.a(libpcre.so.1) could not be loaded., referer: http://servername/xymon/ AH01215: \tThe module has an invalid magic number., referer: http://servername/xymon/ End of script output before headers: svcstatus.sh, referer: http://servername/xymon/ Looks like cgi-bin scripts are trying to read libpcre.a instead of pcre installed during xymon [ usr/local/bin ]. I modified ~/server/etc/cgioptions.cfg and ~/server/etc/xymonserver.cfg to include following - LD_LIBRARY_PATH="/usr/local/lib:$LD_LIBRARY_PATH" export LD_LIBRARY_PATH Any help or pointer much appreciated. Windows powershell client

Hi, I'm adding a new client into our server. I added some 'files' to the client-local.cfg on the server. As soon as I did that, the xymonclient.log column went purple. I tried adding log:C:\xymonclinet.log:10240 into the client-local.cfg but that did not resolve the purple status. There's no entry in the analysis.cfg for log. The msgs column reports 'No entries in xymonclient.log ' What do I need to do to get the xymonclient.log column to report correctly and turn green again? alert script environment variable for URL of test?

Seems to me it'd be nice if an alert script got an environment variable with the URL of the test that failed or recovered. Scenario: recipient(s) has/have smartphone, so they can click on a URL in a text message. Even if their access is sporadic, the text of the URL contains the host and service affected, so they have much of what they'd need right there; the message is short, while still leading to the full web presentation. I don't see any way to do that with the existing setup, save by assuming the URL has a site-specific format and plugging in the host and test names appropriately.

Hi Team, Hope you are doing well I am getting xymon alert mails to internal server mailid: xymon at ip-x-x-x-x.ec2.internal. But i want to send the alerts to clients to my personal mailid like xxxx at gmail.com in which file i have to modify. Regards Venkat Yadav

Windows Powershell client

Hi We have a Linux server for the xymon server (4.3.18) but we run the bb-central addon so my client-local.cfg on the server is pretty bare. All of our xymon clients are Linux servers until now. I've recently installed the xymon Windows powershell client. Most of it is working except the columns files, ports, procs, and svcs. They are reporting a 'clear' status because I haven't defined anything to check. Where and how do I configure these columns? From my research it seems I should configure client-local.cfg on the Linux server but I'm unsure how to configure it for access to Windows. I see there is a [win32] section but it is blank. The Windows Powershell client is running on a Windows 2012 server. Would anyone be willing to share how they've configured these columns or some basic examples? For example if I want to monitor files matching C:\*.log, ports 22,8080 procs prowin32 C:\Progressx86\OpenEdge\bin\prowin32.exe svcs sshd, Spooler In addition where do I configure the Red, Yellow, Green for these columns ? Your Apache configuration doesn't recognise the svcstatus.sh file as a script. The script or its directory or its ".sh" extension needs to be marked as CGI. This can be done in Apache with "ExecCGI" or "ScriptAlias" or "AddHandler". Check out the xymon-apache.conf file provided with Xymon, and ensure that the Apache configuration file includes it.
