And with Kibana reporting is easy. How it work ? Simple : With capture of status message (xymond_channel --channel=status /home/xymon/server/ext/capture.sh ) script encode status message in json and send as document in elasticSearch. Xymon and apache 2.4.35 security problem

I recently upgraded to apache 2.4.35 and was having some issues with password file to secure xymon-seccgi. I got not get apache to read the password file. To get it to work I had to change from Require all granted to Require all denied. Now, it works. I get prompted to enter username and password. Here is the section from my httpd.conf file for your reference if you will run into similar problems. Hi, We are getting these errors on 2 xymon servers running 4.3.21 and 4.3.28. Any steps I can do to debug and/or prevent this error? [Patch] xymond_rrd crash when parsing Linux ifconfig data

This patch addresses two problems: 1. For Linux clients, do_ifstat_rrd parses the ifconfig output using the regex: ([a-z0-9]+(_[0-9]+)?:*|lo:?)\s pickdata() is called like this: pickdata(bol, ifstat_linux_pcres[0], 1, &ifname) With a network interface name such as "foo1", the regex produces 2 results: 0: "foo1 " 1: "foo1" pickdata() discards result 0 and assigns result 1 ("foo1") to the ifname parameter as expected. With a network interface name such as "foo_1", the regex produces 3 results: 0: "foo_1 " 1: "foo_1" 2: "_1" pickdata() discards result 0, assigns result 1 ("foo_1") to the ifname parameter and then tries to assign result 2 ("_1") to the next parameter in the variable argument list. Since there it no such parameter, this results in a segmentation fault and xymond_rrd crashes. The attached patch adds a "num_args" parameter to pickdata() to tell it how many arguments are in the variable argument list and ensure it never rolls off the end of that list. 2. I have some clients with network interface names in the form "foo.5", "foo_bar" and "foo-bar" ("eth0.5" is especially common when eth0 is carrying an 802.1q trunk, for example). Xymon does not collect statistics on those network interfaces because they don't match the regex. DISPLAYGROUP fails in analysis.cfg

I have a xymon server running "Debian GNU/Linux 9 (stretch)" with xymon 4.3.28-2. I'm having bad luck getting DISPLAYGROUP to work in analysis.cfg. It seems to only match on the first 7 characters. I also see this problem on "Debian GNU/Linux 8 (jessie)" with xymon 4.3.17-6+deb8u1. adding a custom test in linux client

Good day, i was trying to monitor some "health data" of a SAP server running on linux. In particular to monitor some output from the dpmon sap utility. fine grained alerts

In my alerts.cfg I've got a PAGE setting that is working well, but I want to fine tune one of the HOSTS to reduce the frequency of alerts for the DISK service. But now I'm getting 2 alerts for the Disk service for that host. I thought the HOST rule would overrule the PAGE rule since it comes first. How do I configure this correctly so I still get all the service alerts as normal for the page, but the disk service for the single host repeats every 4 hours instead of the default 30 min? telnet service differences between hobbit and xymon

My old hobbit reported telnet (which was in fact TN3270) just fine, but now xymon shows: Service telnet on mainframe is not OK : Service listening but unavailable (connect timeout) Is this a WAG or broken. XYMOND_CAPTURE, can't match multiple hosts/tests

Hi, I have a requirement that I capture events in Xymon and feed them into a database for uptime processing and eventual upload to feed graphics in Domo. To capture the events I'm trying to use xymond_capture but I can't get it to match anything more than a single host. Task setup: [domohistorydb] ENVFILE /etc/xymon/xymonserver.cfg NEEDS xymond CMD xymond_channel --channel=status xymond_capture --batch-command=/etc/xymon/bin/domohistlog.sh --hosts=test1.fqdn LOGFILE $XYMONSERVERLOGS/domo-historydb.log That works for the single host. I've also tried the following to extend it to multiple hosts: --hosts=(BLANK), does nothing --exhosts=(BLANK), does nothing --hosts=%( test1.fqdn|test2.fqdn), does nothing --hosts=^[ test1.fqdn|test2.fqdn], does nothing And finally, without -hosts at all, but that also does nothing. Adding debug shows that the module is receiving messages from Xymon, it's just not doing anything with them. Am I using the wrong regex? Anyone have any working examples they can share? Any luck monitoring the size of directories in Windows?

I'm sorry, I don't know why my emails are coming as attachments. This is something that used to work, but I haven’t been able to make it work anymore. I’m running xymon server 4.3.8 I want to flag if the directory d:\tsiback\today becomes too small or too large. I have, in analysis.cfg: DIR "%.*tsiback.today$" red size>5000000 size<50000000 TRACK Notice I have to use a regexp, because the backslash messes things up. It’s working somewhat, because I see a graph of the directory’s size on the server (the “track” is working). But the current data is [dir:D:\tsiback\today] 558831 D:\tsiback\today 558831 is clearly not larger than 5000000, but the status is still green. Am I missing anything obvious?
