xymon communications program (server/bin/xymon) reading from stdin - first line only?

Do you have a sample of the data you're trying to send with the xymon command? Also, can you provide the specific command you're running to try to send? Depending on the nature of the test this extension is sending, only the first line may be relevant. For me, most of my extensions send "status" messages. From the manpage, the format for that is: status[+LIFETIME][/group:GROUP] HOSTNAME.TESTNAME COLOR <additional text> The manpage also states: The "additional text" normally includes a local timestamp and a summary of the test result on the first line. Any lines following the first one are free-form, and can include any information that may be useful to diagnose the problem being reported. For me, the "additional text" will show up on the page for the "service status" pages, but no real action is taken on them. That is of course, the "additional text" is setup to be collected for graphing. So again... sample of data and command you're running would be helpful and "what are you expecting to happen". Xymon Client to work on Windows Server 2016

Hi, I wanted to know if anyone is able to get xymonpsclient.exe to work on window server 2016. When I run the xymonclient.ps1 install it works, but once I run xymonclient.ps1 start I get the following error: start-service : Failed to start service 'XymonPSClient (XymonPSClient)'. Help with removing top line of Combo Status page

Hello all, I need assistance with customizing the status page generated of a combo test. On the top (under the date/time), there is a line that lists the following: test1&&test2&&test3... = 1&&1&&1&&1.. = 1. How do I get rid of this line? Hi I am having trouble getting the graph component of Xymon working. I have installed the following. Ubuntu 16.04.3 LTS rrdtool-1.7.0. xymon 4.3.28 and all other libraries as required. Browser-specific defects in Xymon 4.3.28

Chrome has stopped supporting our method (meta tag) of setting cookies. See the thread early in March, 2018 "Chrome cookie deprecations" Firefox browser does not appear to correctly handle "multipart documents". As a consequence, the Snapshot Report pages does not reload, but leaves the customer looking at page with meta-refresh content. I don't know if this has always been the case, but it behaves this way on Firefox 54 and 59. The problem is found in lines 184-187 of web/snapshot.c where the browser's useragent string is considered. If the string contains "KHTML", the browser is considered to be unable to handle multipart documents. Forcing those characters into the useragent string of my Firefox browsers makes it behave correctly with the snapshot report. I don't know how to fix the cookie-setting method, but this looks like something I could patch around the next time I compile. -- Do things because you should, not just because you can. RRD files are too big

I migrated / upgraded from Xymon 4.3.3 on a Solaris 10 host to a Linux host (RHEL 6) using the Terbithia binaries (4.3.28), and things have been doing well for the most part. Unfortunately the new RRD files are massively bigger than the original ones on the old server, causing a lot of space issues on the file system. The old RRD files took up around 38KB each (avg.) but the new ones are fairly uniform at 400+KB each. Can anyone please tell me how to get those big files down-sized back to something much closer to the old sizes? Or, perhaps, someone can point me at the parameters Xymon uses that determine the RRD file sizes? Xymonproxy and an unreachable server

On a Raspberry Pi zero W xymon-client is running to monitor some sensors and the PRi0 itself. As the xymon server itself is not reachable by times, a minimal xymon-server is running too on the RPi0. Xymonproxy is used to distribute the status and data messages to both the local xymon server and the primary xymon server. The intention of this setup is to have all the RRD's locally complete at the RPi0. If needed, the RRDs can be copied from the RPi0 to the primary xymon server. The local xymon server is listening to port 1985, the xymonproxy to port 1984. The latter distributes the messages to two servers, using parameter "--server=127.0.0.1:1985,192.168.178.72:1984". This setup is working, but the graphs created from the local RRD's contain gaps in the periods that the primary xymon server is not reachable. The logfiles of the clients running on the RPi0 contain messages like the following, about twice an hour: 2018-02-21 06:10:01.664965 Whoops !
