That worked! Thanks! I hope I did not ask a redundant question. I try to keep up with the mailing list. Just a curiosity question. disk monitoring

Hi I have specified on the server to monitor a host's disks however it is not working. On the server I have in ~/server/etc/bb-hosts: 10.1.1.254 mail # conn ssh smtp pop3 disk And in ~/server/etc/hobbit-clients.cfg I have: HOST=mail DISK / 90 95 DISK /boot 90 95 This is not being reported... minor shire update

I've had some time to add a few mailing lists and forums to the shire...this is going more slowly than I had hoped mainly due to big projects I've recently been involved in (not an excuse as this is what pays the bills). I've decided to allow a small number of folks to be on the developer committee (not really a committee except in the sense they will be to ones to commit monitors to the site). One of the forums created is a wish list forum for those who don't have the coding skills (or maybe the time) to let others know what they need...maybe someone has something in place or would be willing to write it. There is also a developers forum and mailing list...There is also a cheesy home page I did to let folks know it's coming... =G=

Some info columns not working

Some of my info pages aren't coming up. Just get Internal Server Error and Apache logs a "Premature end of script headers: bb-hostsvc.sh" when I try to access them. At first I thought maybe it was just the systems relayed through bbproxy, but I've found some tested locally from the main display server that also don't work, and there are relayed systems that DO have info. Checked all the hobbit logs and don't see any problems reported. Any troubleshooting tips?

Hobbit dependencies on Solaris 10.

Hello guys, I've played with BB for years but I'm new to hobbit. I'm trying to install 4.2.0 on a box running Solaris 10 x86 1/06 (Core installation). I've religiously added gcc, gmake, fping, rrdtool but I'm getting stuck on pcre. 1. Hi, at my company we tend to graph just anything. As long as we were with larrd (written in Perl), we could trick the grapher to accept ever-changing list of data source my making a rrd file for each data, holding one DS per file and looping over patterns. With hobbit, we have a nice NCV semi-automatic way of graphing things. But I want to trend, say, the number of mysql connections per user at host : status databaseserver.int.cvf.sqlcnx green foo at appserver01.int.cvf on content = 2 foo at appserver02.int.cvf on content = 4 statinjector at appserver02.int.cvf on stats = 1 statreader@@backendserver01.int.cvf on stats = 31 bar@@backendserver01.int.cvf on traces = 3 bar@@backendserver02.int.cvf on traces = 4 I can't do it with NCV, because if I add a new appserver03, it won't make have its slot in the rrd file. So I'd like to see something like (S for Split or Single) : SNCV_sqlcnx="/.+ on .+/:GAUGE" that would yield : /usr/hobbit/data/rrd/~$ ls databaseserver.int.cvf/ sqlcnx.foo at appserver01.int.cvf_on_content.rrd sqlcnx.foo at appserver02.int.cvf_on_content.rrd (and so on) Since I really need it, I can always try to add this into hobbit. displaying list of disabled hosts via command line

Is there a way to get the info normally displayed on the enable/disable webpage through the command line? I've tried using variations of the "bb 127.0.0.1 query ..." command, but couldn't find one that worked. Tom

Excluding network interfaces from RRD graphs?

Shire-folk: In Hobbit 4.2, the bandwidth for my system interfaces is now being tracked and graphed! Yes! But some of my servers have a bit list of interfaces that I do not want to track (wrsmd<nn>)... So, is there a way to exclude network interfaces from the list, like you can exclude disks from the disk graphs? And, is there a way to tag each interface with something descriptive, such as "eri0=Backup". Etc. I didn't see any of this in the docs, or in the configuration files...but it could still be there... GLH
