Hobbit client, exempt disks?

Erm, how do you exempt disks from being detected in the client? Its detected the network mount (a backup drive) as a disk and is logging it! RPM build errors?

When I do "./build/makerpm 4.2.0", I get the following errors RPM build errors: File not found: /tmp/hobbit-root/usr/lib/hobbit/server/download File listed twice: /usr/lib/hobbit/client/bin/clientupdate File listed twice: /usr/lib/hobbit/client/bin/logfetch File listed twice: /usr/lib/hobbit/client/ext I get the same error trying to rebuild the srpm as well "rpmbuild --rebuild hobbit-4.2.0-1.src.rpm". local client: Failed to get a message, terminating

Hi, I just upgraded our hobbit server to 4.2.0 and installed a local client on a linux machine. Everything seems to work well, but every 5 minutes the client logs the following message in its hobbitclient.log: "Failed to get a message, terminating" What could be the cause of this message? Webpage with patches for 4.2.0

Don't know if everyone is aware of it, but I maintain a webpage with a summary of the known issues in 4.2.0 that have been discussed here on the mailing list, and links to the patches that I have produced since the release. So the first place to go if you have problems with 4.2.0 is this page: http://www.hswn.dk/hobbitsw/patches/ There's also a link from the "Hobbit projects" menu on the demo-site. So far I am very pleased with the number of bug reports after the 4.2.0 release. There's been 385 downloads of that release from sourceforge until now, and with only 5 bugs reported it looks to be pretty good for a dot-oh release. DNS tests

I have a DNS test that is returning a NOT ok message, however a dig/nslookup against it is working just fine. I ran a bbcmd test and all I see for debug output is: 2006-08-15 22:52:54 Adding to combo msg: status dns01,[snip].dns red  Tue Aug 15 22:51:36 2006 dns NOT ok Is there more info I can get to tell me exactly why this test is failing?

Metrics Report for other tests

I only see options to create metrics reports for CPU, Disk, RAM, and Ping. Is it possible to make metrics reports for other defined services as well? Ones I would be interested in are: * Clock offset * Network Traffic * Processes (including TRACKed procs) * Any custom NCV graphs I guess I was expecting to be able to do a multi-host metric comparison of any available graphs. -Charles

Thanks...my manual entry for the new IP in /etc/hosts is what clued me to the cause. I've now added "# testip" and removed the entry from /etc/hosts.
