Hi Torsten, Make sure that the NT Computer name or BB Alias name exactly match your entry in the BBHOSTS file, the names are case sensitive. I don't know what is wrong, but I debugged my custom scripts using these methods: A) I changed my script to save the temporary file. B) I run the "catcher" by hand using the temporary file as input, and review the output. There are many variations you can use. For instance, you can simply grab and save the text in the Web page for your new test, and this will be essentially the same as what is in the temporary file that you are given. You can also add a log file mechanism for the script, and add whatever you want to it. Make sure you don't put in too much and forget about, since Hobbit will tirelessly run your script every 5 minutes until the 12th of Never or your computer croaks, whichever comes first. BB Windows client 1.08d + msgs question

Hi all, I have the problem that a machine running Windows 2003 Server with BBNT 1.08d as client does not show up on the Hobbit server 4.1.2p1 running Linux. Since we have other clients running the same OS and client version which do show up on the server I suppose the problem is elsewhere. No firewall between the 2 machines and ethereal shows me that the data is coming from the client but seems to be ignored by the server. Has anybody had a similar problem and solved it? My second question is for the msgs test within Hobbit. How can I accomplish that the Hobbit client is checking for entries in /var/log/messages or /var/adm/messages like BB does? TIA Torsten

I am running rrdtool 1.2.6 on an HPUX 11.23 Integrity (Itainium 2) machine and although it wasn't easy to build the apps, I they did eventually build and install. I built them in order, with Hobbit being the last app to build and install. Any suggestions? Tim

Hi, I have written a script to create rrd files for custom test called as 'printq' The data which comes to hobbit for the 'printq' test is random. So I have decided to generate separate rrd file for each value. 03/19 snapshot : "disable until OK" and locally configured client

Hi Henrik first of all, let me thank you for your implication, I've seen a lot of changes in the code this week-end ! The "disable until OK" function works fine now (tested with a Quest BB client 3.01), however the locally configured Hobbit client still gives this error (in hobbitclient.log) : /BB/hobbit/client/bin/hobbitclient.sh: line 54: /BB/hobbit/client/bin/hobbitd_client: No such file or directory After linking the hobbitd_client (from ~server/bin to ~client/bin), it works fine. Hi: I'm trying to get the graph for mysql usage to work. I've been reading through the archives and I've been trying different combinations of parameters, without too much luck. Le's start with what it works. It's getting the data from the client and creating the mysql.rrd file. From there, It's not displaying data out into the website. When I run the call to hobbitgraph.sh directly from the browser, it is returning back an error 500 for mysql but I'm getting results from other graphs.
