Patch: report.sh and snapshot.sh fix for Firefox

Hi! I noticed, that in Xymon 4.3.30 opening the "Snapshot Report" (snapshot.sh) as well as the "Availability Report" (report.sh) in the "Reports" menu do not work as expected, but try to download a file snapshot.sh or report.sh. Digging deeper into this, I noticed, that this seems a Firefox only problem, while chromium works without problems. In the code web/snapshot.c and web/report.c I found a variable usemultipart, which is 1 by default and is reset to 0 if HTTP_USER_AGENT contains "KHTML", which (according to a comment) cannot handle multipart documents. It seems, that current Firefox also can not handle this correct, while Chromium uses the User-Agent "Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/90.0.4430.212 Safari/537.36" so it already disables multipart.

ubuntu client tests data apt and libs

Hello everyone, I am looking for answers for these tests that I am not sure how to resume. I had an Ubuntu server running xymon and also running the client to report to itself, probably an old version of Ubuntu, I want to say 18.xx and probably the last 32 bit around. I've finally upgraded to a better hardware, I now have the latest Ubuntu 22, I've migrated all my configs, xymon client and server, and other services like nginx, that I was running on there. Same hostname, same IP, so nothing was changed beside the OS, All good so far, but I have a non issue request, just a curiosity at this point that I cannot find an answer to. It's about tests that were there before and now they are no longer there, so they are purple on the display page. The older server was reporting 2 tests that I presumed came from the xymon client "apt" and "libs". Those tests are no longer reporting, Where did they come from? And can I resume them on the new server? Thank you all in advance. Gab

XymonPSClient CPU graphs missing over HTTPS

I'm using the XymonPSClient 2.42 on a Windows server, and all works fine except when I choose to send the data from the client to the server over https the CPU graph doesn't display on the server side. If I change the XymonPSClient to send over http the CPU graph displays correctly.? I've tried this on different hosts and results are always the same when using https.? Server is v4.3.30, but it was happening on an older version too.? Can anyone give me a clue how to resolve this?? There's no errors happening that I can see anywhere. I looked in the rrd folder and there is no 'cpu' or 'la' rrd file being created for the hosts that use the XymonPSClient over https. Thanks, Kris Springer

Xymon no longer sending alerts

Hi all Our Xymon server has recently stopped sending alert emails. This server is also running Postfix and is our mail relay. >From alert.log all I see is: 2024-01-31 02:17:39.813610 Whoops ! I added "--debug" to the "[alert]" section of /etc/xymon/tasks.cfg and while the verbosity was increased, there was no indication of why alerts are not being sent. Any clues how I can debug this? If you just want to alert when the procs test has been red for 5 minutes, that's straightforward: SERVICE=procs COLOR=red DURATION>5 MAIL alert at example.com If you only want to alert based on the actual contents of a status message, I think you'd need to implement a custom SCRIPT as the alert recipient and have it take whatever action you like based upon the content of $BBALPHAMSG . Hi folks, I'm having trouble with a regular expression in a LOG entry in analysis.cfg which is monitoring a Windows log. I also set up something similar to what you did; we call them 'admin pages' or 'admin views.' In them, we mostly work with 'dispinclude' as it could lead to inconsistent configurations in cases where one monitored host is mentioned multiple times in different 'hosts.cfg' files. My goal was to set up alert notifications based on 'PAGE=admiviews/user-a' in 'alerts.cfg,' but this does not work. My guess is that 'dispinclude' is indeed not designed to trigger alerts. Unfortunately, it would really come in handy in that case...
