Multiple host entries

Hello all, I have entered the same host in bb-hosts several times to build different views and I am getting these error messages now in bbtest: Error output: Host server1 appears twice in bb-hosts! This may cause strange results Host server2 appears twice in bb-hosts! This may cause strange results Host server3 appears twice in bb-hosts! This may cause strange results Host server4 appears twice in bb-hosts! This may cause strange results 1) is this a big problem? 2) If it is not a problem, can I shut this error off? 3) Am I taking the wrong approach to build different views by putting same host in bb-hosts several times? This is a minor thing, but I thought I'd let you know. After upgrading to RC3, I tested bb-ack.sh and it works fine. After that, I disabled the test that I had just ack'ed. When I looked at the webpage, the "blue dot" was pointing to blue-ack.gif, which doesn't exist. Thanks

So reading the man page for alerts does the following make sense. Configure a rule for with no duration for the primary oncall contact and then create a second rule matching the first, but include DURATION>15. If the above makes sense, I am assuming that if the primary oncall contact acks the alert within the 15 minute span, the second alert would not be triggered.

Is their functionality in hobbit to do alert escalation? I read through the man page and nothing jumps out as a method to do this. I ask because we have a small 4 man rotation of oncall personal and I'd like to setup all alerts to go the primary oncall contact and if no acknowledgement has been made in X amount of time, send out an alert to the group. That way everyone keeps their pagers on, but only the primary receives the first alert. Any assistance is appreciated. Thanks

Ok, After applying post-RC3 patch, I'm still getting the following issues: During the ./configure --- snip --- What userid will be running Hobbit [hobbit] ? /configure[215]: getent: not found. Found passwd entry for user hobbit:*:203:201::/home/hobbit:/usr/bin/ksh Make and make install go smoothly. --- /snip --- Firefox: When clicking on bbtest or hobbitd_larrd icons, I can at least get to the page, but get a warning that says "Program Crashed", fatal signal caught, for those two icons. No Apache errors are generated when Firefox is used. Internet Explorer: When I click on bbtest or hobbitd_larrd, I get an Internal server error. Here's what I get in the Apache error log for an IE hit: [Thu Feb 24 12:30:49 2005] [error] [client 10.254.15.4] Premature end of script headers: bb-hostsvc.sh, referer: http://hobbit/ >From the larrd-status.log file: 2005-02-24 12:18:00 Worker process died with exit code 393350, terminating.
