Ahh, it never occurred to me to do that. I think you'd have to do something along the lines of this. Use "bbgen --pageset=win --template=win" option for bbgen. Create new header and footer files called win _header & win _footer in $BBHOME/web. In the new header and footer files, change $BBMENUSKIN to $WINMENUSKIN. Add $WINMENUSKIN= "$BBHOME/www/hobbit/WIN/menu" to hobbitserver.cfg I've never tried it, and I might be missing something. [hobbit] Graph Limits

I have created this functionality with a Big Brother external script that integrates Big Brother and Cacti. The script is called BigCactus and it's available on deadcat. I am very new to Hobbit, and I have just joined the list (I haven't even installed hobbit yet). With that said, if BB external scripts work in Hobbit, then this should work no problem. If you already have Cacti installed, you can integrate the two, similar to that of the bbmrtg mrtg scripts (with the ability to set thresholds, etc). The only problem currently is that I haven't written much threshold checking tests (only for Novell servers so far). So by using this script, it will allow you to go right from the hobbit page to the cacti page that contains the zoom functionality. One problem I found with the magnifying glass zoom (if/when someone begins writing this functionality) is that when you zoom in on the graph, there is a DHTML layering over the image. For now, I'll leave it "as-is" - but this looks like one of those "wow" features that are very nice to have when you're trying to convince someone to use Hobbit :-) So I'll get back to it later, unless someone else would like to contribute code for it.

Core dump

Henrik, I added the following lines in bb-hosts: group-compress <H3><I>Legacy Systems</I></H3> 172.16.69.226 nemesis # apache=http://172.16.69.226/bb/bb.html/server-status?auto And got a core dump....a Hobbit core dump not a linux core dump All outbound tests (conn, http, ftp. etc.) from the Hobbit server stopped working and they eventually went purple All inbound tests (from the clients) continued to work. I stopped Hobbit, deleted the core dump file (saved it first!) and restarted...got another core dump. I stopped Hobbit, deleted the core dump file (saved it again), commented out the line in bb-hosts and restarted and everything started working again. Any Ideas? Kevin

using filerstats2bb ext script

Has anyone else been working on getting the filerstats2bb script (filerstats2bb.zip from deadcat.net) working under hobbit? I've been hacking on it all day and I can't seem to get around 2 problems: 1. Keep getting this perl error from the vfilerdiskreport.pl: Use of uninitialized value in numeric lt (<) at /home/bb/hobbit/server/ext/vfilerdiskreport.pl line 302 (#1) (W uninitialized) An undefined value was used as if it were already defined. It was interpreted as a "" or a 0, but maybe it was a mistake. To suppress this warning assign a defined value to your variables. As best I can tell from putting print statements through the script, the array passed to the convert_bytes subroutine has an empty value at the end, which causes this. 2. The status changes to purple about 4 mins after the last run. filerstats2bb_wrap.sh is currently set to run every 5 mins, so I don't know why this is taking place. I've got purpledelay set to 15... If anyone has any tips, I'm all ears. :) Tom

disable msgs column

I hope this hasn't been covered before on the list. Is there a way that I can globally disable the "msgs" column from appearing? None of my clients test for msgs, so I end up with a column full of clear circles. Tom
