Hello Xymon, You can now used *SNMPv3* with Devmon (version on github) - Net-SNMP lib needed - Overvall performance (only SNMPv2c and SNMPv3) is mainly *2x faster* with this lib ?? - We should be able to poll 500 devices per minutes (just? is an estimationm, be warned...edge case...) ?? - (SNMPv1 is always available with previous lib) Some feedback would be greatly appreciated! random errors with imaps/pop3s servers offering TLS 1.3

Hi, I have found an issue when trying to monitor imaps and pop3s server offering TLS1.3 . Both servers where running dovecot. I wrote an extension in perl using IO::Socket::SSL (and the same local openssl) to monitor the server offerng tls 1.3 and all is fine with it. For some strange reason, I can monitor a https web servers (running nginx or apache) offering TLS 1.3 without this issue but not imaps/pop3s. Sanity checking my alert config

In alerts.cfg, I have this: HOST=* COLOR=red,purple SERVICE=msgs MAIL $ADMINMAIL HOST=* COLOR=red,purple IGNORE SERVICE=msgs MAIL $ADMINMAIL RECOVERED My goal with this is to see alerts for purple and red statuses for all tests, and then get recovery alerts for all tests except msgs. Did I do the config right for that? I would also like to see if I can get a legend for the alerting grid in the "info" page. Hi Xymon I?ve installed Xymon v4.3.30 onto a new Ubuntu server v20.10. I followed the instructions on xymon.sourceforge.io, and managed to launch the webpage http://myservername/xymon/ When clicking on any of webpage icons or menus that relates to .sh, my web browsers can?t open it. Instead it?ll ask to open with or save file. I?ve tried it in Internet Explorer, Firefox, and Chrome. I?d appreciate any suggestions and help. Minor bug found in xymonclient-linux.sh

I have been frustrated by the inclusion of tmpfs filesystems in xymon's client-side disk test. So I decided to see if I could fix the problem. Running version 4.3.30. In xymonclient-linux.sh, when defining the list of filesystem types to exclude, one of the commands it pipes through is this: egrep -v 'tmpfs|rootfs|squashfs' This grep removes tmpfs from the list of filesystems to exclude. So tmpfs filesystems are included. Changing the command to the following fixes the immediate problem that I have, but it should be reviewed for sanity by someone who's much more familiar with the code: egrep -v 'rootfs|squashfs' I actually came up with a command to define the excludes that's a little bit cleaner, but it required changes to more than just the one piped command. Removing Columns and http monitoring 401 error

Hello all, I somehow created 2 new columns in the dashboard while I was trying to fix a http monitor. I've removed my changes and the columns still show up. How do you remove them from the dashboard? My second issue is I'm wanting to monitor a URL and am only wanting to know if its alive. Since it requires authentication I'm getting HTTP status 401 error. Hi List, Having now completed my investigation into SNMP handling in Xymon, I have some more changes to propose.? Basically, this change introduces an extra method for finding indexes in SNMP tables when nothing that is provided is unique. I've also allowed for negative values and decimal points in returned data since both seemed to happen very quickly for me (no, the negative values weren't an error - they were wireless signal strengths). I have some documentation updates in progress to try and fill some of the holes in this area. I send them soon. Cheers, Brian Scott
