Hello, I am using "NOPROPxxxx" tags in bb-hosts file with multipes entries, even if i use "prefer" tag it is not working. group-compress Oracle-AIX 0.0.0.0 -ta92- # noping prefer NOPROPYELLOW=* NOPROPPURPLE=* NOPROPACK=* Do you have an idea ? Regards, Fred.

Alerts failed to post by XYMON

Hi, I have configured XYMON and monitoring part it is very good, But it is not acknowledging the mentioned alerts. The configuration I have given in ~/server/etc/hobbit-alerts.cfg file is as follows. HOST=osiosi.osius.com MAIL skalluru at osius.com REPEAT=1m SERVICE=cpu,disk But it is not posting any mail to the given mail address. Please help me to overcome this issue. I'm about to undertake writing a series of monitors for a custom app we have here in-house. This app lives over a networked filesystem (think cvfs or gpfs) that is managed by two master nodes, a master and a failover. As a result, only one node at a time can answer the query I want to give it. My conundrum: If I make the query form my Xymon server on node1 and it fails over to node2, node1 becomes completely unable to answer the question, and that check would go "red". Same for node2 back to node1. If I run the check locally on each system, while one is working, the other will go "blue". Have any of you ever written monitors for servers that carry a service in an active/passive configuration, and been able to keep the individual servers from going into some strange state as a result of failovers and such? Greetings all, I have been trying to figure this out and I think I am missing something real obvious. I am trying to ignore an event when a series of servers do some backups and the http test gets triggered for a second Sunday Morning at 3:35AM or 0835UTC. Here is the rule in hobbit-alerts.cfg HOST=S1,S2,S3,S4 COLOR=red SERVICE=http IGNORE HOST=S1,S2,S3,S4 SERVICE=http TIME=7:0830:0845 But I get still get paged. Here is what I get when I run: ./bin/bbcmd hobbitd_alert --test S1 http 00052836 2009-12-29 18:02:45 Matching host:service:page 'S1:http:' against rule line 81 2009-12-29 18:02:45 Bad timespec (missing colon or wrong weekdays): 7:0830:0845 00052836 2009-12-29 18:02:45 Failed 'IGNORE HOST=S1,S2,S3,S4 SERVICE=http TIME=7:0830:0845' (time criteria) In the hobbit manual there is an example that shows a similar rule set for Thursday using day 4:0000:0000 so I believe Sunday should be day 7? Fix wrt advanced graph title

Hello, if for a host the NAME directive is used in bb-hosts, and if there is a blank space in this name, and if for a test data is collected in an RRD, and if the title of the graph is generated by a user-supplied script, the latter script will fail as the parameters are not at the expected location. Change mail alert subject

Hi All,I was wondering, is it possible to change the subject of the alert emails(without using SCRIPT as a recipient)??The current email subjects are like "Hobbit [117845] testhost.com:conn CRITICAL (RED)" and i would like to change it to "testhost.com:conn CRITICAL (RED) Hobbit [117845] " so it can be sorted by host in my email client.I've searched the maillinglist but could not find an answer. I also tried to change the hobbit-mailack file but no luck.

Hi all - I followed the link on the demo site and downloaded the trunk.tar.gz file. When I installed it the version number tat shows up is 4.3.0-0.20080929 .. Is this the latest version or is there a newer version that I should be using? Thanks - -- --==[ Bob Gordon ]==--
