Hi, I have implemented sending alerts to Telegram via the SCRIPT keyword in alerts.cfg. My wrapper script looks as follows: ---------------------------------------------------------------------- #!/bin/sh # See https://www.xymon.com/help/xymon-alerts.html#scripts printf "$BBHOSTSVC is $BBCOLORLEVEL:\n\n$BBALPHAMSG" | /usr/local/bin/telegram-bot-send-to $RCPT ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Both, the wrapper script as well as the generic script are available on https://github.com/xtaran/telegram-bot-send-to (work in progress) I currently have the following issues with that: The BBCOLORLEVEL variable seems always wrong on "RECOVERED" alerts, e.g. look at these two messages: --- Message from Xymon Bot on Sym, [21.05.19 06:43] --- someone.cpu is yellow: yellow Tue May 21 06:41:30 CEST 2019 up: 67 days, 2 users, 127 procs, load=2.49 &yellow Load is HIGH System clock is 0 seconds off top - 06:41:41 up 67 days, 5:54, 2 users, load average: 1.03, 2.49, 2.75 Tasks: 127 total, 2 running, 125 sleeping, 0 stopped, 0 zombie --- Message from Xymon Bot on Sym, [21.05.19 06:46] --- someone.cpu is yellow: green Tue May 21 06:46:34 CEST 2019 up: 67 days, 2 users, 128 procs, load=1.18 System clock is 0 seconds off top - 06:46:39 up 67 days, 5:59, 2 users, load average: 0.90, 1.18, 2.09 Tasks: 128 total, 2 running, 126 sleeping, 0 stopped, 0 zombie The second message says "someone.cpu is yellow" despite the next line says "green" and the load is below 2 again and the message is actually a RECOVERED message. (Should probably add that fact to the above wrapper script.) This is a pattern which I have noticed for quite some alerts. (Not sure if it affects all alerts, but I suspect so.) So this looks like a bug when filling these environment variables. I ran into it with Xymon 4.3.28, but I haven't noticed any related changes in the 4.3.29 branch, so I assume, the issue is still present. DS override - can't get to work

Hello, Using the Terabithia RPMs, I've been looking at adding a 'DS' override entry to our analysis.cfg file. I have an entry for a web server as: DS http tcp.http.https:,,weed.plymouth.ac.uk,.rrd:sec >0.0007 COLOR=yellow The comparison value (0.0007) was set low just to see that this was working. However, I can't get it to work. The 'http' column remains green, and the text shown of the http response (on the web page) indicates that the time is above the threshold value (e.g. 'Seconds: 0.088597000'). Anyone any ideas about this? Alternate devmon SNMP

Hello, I created a repo with "devmon" github/bonomani and included all patches/contrib and resolved all bugs I can. (I try to integrate all patches, bugs and features from SF) see the REAMDE for details This is not an official update of current "devmon" but I have difficulties to have an answer on current sourceforge repo, so I decided to publish what I have done. (I did not have any answer on my patches after myn years!?) As i am working on Centos, there are some specific things for systemd. I trying also to contact devmon admins to merge this work or part of it, so if you have a clue... If you want to test this work, you should simply take the files in the "modules" dir and it should work...with your current installation And of course any suggestions are welcome! Bruno

Hi, I have created an alternate xymon binary. It's a shell script that accepts the same options but uses curl to upload the data to a https server with xymoncgimsg.cgi. This way you can block port 1984 and have control who send data with a username/ password. And the data is encrypted. We had some external auditors who tried to send bogus messages to corrupt our monitor solution :( This will prevent this because you need a username and password if you want to send something. And the data is encrypted. Anyone interested in the script? Stef

libvirt-qemu: libs linked reportedly upgraded after disks added to VM

Hi folks, My most recent hypervisor system is based on Debian buster and Xymon reported that all was well with it up until I added some extra disks to one of the VMs. Since then Xymon has reported that libvirt-qemu has libraries linked that were upgraded and therefore that the process needs to be restarted. Of course, being a false positive, restarting doesn't help. Any idea how to fix it? Thanks, Jaap

Testing Terabithia packages updated to 4.3.29-0.6

Hello all, The "xymon-testing" repo (https://terabithia.org/rpms/xymon/testing/) has been updated with packages for RHEL6, EL7 and F28-30. These are labeled as 4.3.29-0.6 and correspond to commit (r8066). This wasn't intended directly to be a release candidate, but I had changes in the patchset that needed to be iterated on in the build process. (An EL5 build is coming.) For the intrepid, please let me know if you notice any unusual issues on install. There will be more commits before the actual release. Regards, -jc
