hello hobbit admins, My c programming skills are poor at best. Can some one explain what this is doing? else p = msg->buf; if (sscanf(p, "%d %99s", &cookie, durstr) == 2) { log = find_cookie(abs(cookie)); This is from hobbitd.c I am trying to track down why I can't acknowledge an alert using the web interface. Every time I try, I get the following in hobbitd.log. The above test is failing and dropping me through to the error writing code. 2008-06-18 22:03:42 Bogus ack message from 10.1.50.4: 'hobbitdack 638622 10 test ' enable/disable works fine and the interface I am running from is defined as --maint-interface (removing this option has no effect). [hobbit] alternate page graphs custom menu

I had already tried the same thing but i don't succeed in getting hobbit to show the alternate templates for the current graphs. Even when i add the --templates=/wherever/you/want directive to this line in hobbitcgi.cnf ( i know this would change the main site also, it's just a test )# hobbitsvc.cgi options for a normal (current) status displayCGI_SVC_OPTS="--env=/usr/lib/hobbit/server/etc/hobbitserver.cfg --no-svcid --history=top"I also tried adding another variable ($ALT_OPTS) that i created myself in the .sh script that generates the page and then adding it to the bb-hostsvc.sh like this: . /usr/local/hobbit/server/etc/hobbitcgi.cfg exec /usr/local/hobbit/server/bin/hobbitsvc.cgi $CGI_SVC_OPTS $ALT_OPTSWhich basically also does nothing...Can anyone shed some light on this??? It seems that the actual cgi scripts that run when you click on an item use the default header sets, rather than the ones specified by your --templates or --pageset settings with bbgen. The first page on the pageset does use the custom_header and custom_footer files, but if you click on an item like "cpu", it runs a cgi script which generates a new page using the default templates instead of your custom ones. For example, most of the items call "bb-hostsvc.sh". which is just a wrapper that takes arguments and runs . /usr/local/hobbit/server/etc/hobbitcgi.cfg exec /usr/local/hobbit/server/bin/hobbitsvc.cgi $CGI_SVC_OPTS Now, optimally you should be able to put a custom $CGI_SVC_OPTS definition in whatever script generates your alternate pages, such that CGI_SVC_OPTS=--templates=/whatever/directory/with/your/new/templatefiles Unfortunately, even this doesn't seem to work. The key is to get your custom sub-pages to use custom templates for the graph pages and such that are dynamically generated by the CGI files. Hobbit Graphing Question:

All: I'm running Hobbit 4.2 I'm doing some custom graphs.I'm using the NCV module to collect the data. Some times they work and some times they don't. What I've found is that on first initialization is that the first column is dropped from the rrd. I've worked around this behavior by sending a bogus NAME:VALUE pair in my script. Then adding it to my hobbitserver.cfg like this: NCV_TcAl="bogus:GAUGE,runningcmds:GAUGE,completedcmds:GAUGE,mincmdtime:G AUGE,maxcmdtime:GAUGE,avgcmdtime:GAUGE,*:NONE" I have to send the following from my script: </PRE>  <PRE> Except for the bogus column all the RHS values are from variables. The Bogus value is hard wired to 0. Without the bogus definition on the NCV_TcAl variable, I lose the compltetecmds in the rrds and I just get the runningcmds... etc. The bogus data point doesn't cost much from a space perspective, but I am wondering if I'm just doing some thing wrong. Yes, the clients are listed in the ghost list. And now? I've build own clients for each architecture. For Debian Etch the hobbit-client package, for Suse9 and for Solaris I've build a own client nad fior the win-client bbwin. We had an issue with hobbit the other day where the disk went full. After clearing up the disk issue the server rebooted and ever since the reboot the "conn" column seems to be staying yellow for 20 min and then going red. But in our bb-hosts file we have it set "badconn:1:1:5". Anyone have any clues????? -Josh

Multigraphs with custom SCV datasets

Is it possible to use the multigraphs option with custom SCV datasets? I have a script that returns me 15 unique values from a server. I would like a graph of all of these, but placing them all on the same graph isn't helpful. I've read that using adding the multigraphs option to hobbitcgi.cfg will turn on this feature, but instead I get a 1 graph with all of my data plots and then links (hobbit graph ncv:moirad) below it. I was able to turn on the feature for non-custom scv datasets (such as inode) but can't get it to work for this. Problem with rrdtools

Hi, i just try to install hobbit on my red hat system, i have rrdtool and cacti running on it,when i try to install hobbit, he tell "RRDtool include- or library-files not found. These are REQUIRED for hobbitdRRDtool can be found at http://people.ee.ethz.ch/~oetiker/webtools/rrdtool/If you have RRDtool installed, use the "--rrdinclude DIR" and "--rrdlib DIR"options to configure to specify where they are." But i have rrdtools already install it.Does any one have a idea ?
