Hello All, I've asked this question before, but I've never gotten an answer, so I thought I'd ask again. I've written a hobbit test and the data goes to rrd. I'm using ncv. When you look at the test in Hobbit, you can see the graph. However, I'd like to have different types of graphs on the test page. ie.. more than one graph. I have four values I'm tracking with the test, but I'd like to have two graphs, one with two values, the other graph with the other two values. Is this possible? Thanks.James

sunos clients missing la & user graphs

Hi all, I was working on updating my solaris clients from the bbclient to the hobbit client. When do this, I noticed the LA & user (procs/user) are missing. The clock graph is there though. I mentioned the clock graph since I think the same function creates all 3 graphs. It looks like every Sun box's uptime is missbehaving, I am actually missing the uptime piece: [uptime] 11:27am 0 users, load average: 0.03, 0.04, 0.05 per the man page the output should be: example% uptime 10:47am up 27 day(s), 50 mins, 1 user, load average: 0.18, 0.26, .20 So I am guessing that since my uptime doesn't have the right number of fields, this is the reason for the missing trend data ? Has anyone see this issue on a sun server before ? ~Steve

I finally found it. I had Min instead of MIN. Is it possible to specify a maximum that the Y-Axis can go up to? Best way to monitor server in a DMZ ? or remote LAN ?

Hi, I would like to monitor servers inside a DMZ. Since the Hobbit-Clients push the information to the server, they are not able reach the LAN Hobbit server : communication from the DMZ to the LAN is forbidden... What is your experience in that area guys ? I'm thinking to setup a DMZ Hobbit server. The LAN Hobbit server will pull the information from the DMZ Hobbit server. I remember something related using bbproxy or NET. Am I right ? What is your experience in that domain again ? (bis) Finally, I would like to setup a Hobbit Server in "LAN2", "LAN3" and "LAN4" . Those LAN* Hobbit server will monitor servers around them. Will they send information to LAN Hobbit server or the LAN Hobbit server will pull the information from LAN* Hobbit servers ? Thanks by advance for any answers or point of view of my ideas. I'm looking for a global view of my issues + tutorial links to setup the right things. Thanks by advance.

how to specify the same log for different servers [client-local.cfg and LOG in hobbit-clients.cfg]

Hello to all, A quick question: I do have to servers, load balanced, generating two logs comming from the same application. My goal is to be able to log error messages from these two machines, having different log names but logs holding the same content. Log on the firs machine is in format: host1.log and log on the other machine is host2.log What I did is in client-local.cfg file I have defined new class as following: log:/var/lib/app/host*.log:10240 and tried to use it within hobbit-clients.cfg by doing (I do remember that we can not uses classes within this file, just bb-hosts): HOST=%host..\.domain\.com ... LOG %/var/lib/app/host* "ERROR" yellow But unfortunatelly it doesnt work :( Is there any viable exit from this situation? Am I missing something here or it is simply not possible to do it that way? BBwin client columns don't show up

Hello I can't get the hobbit server to show default columns for BBwin client, such as cpu load and disk space. I'm running hobbit 4.2.0 on the server and BBWin_0.11 on the client. I get data from the client so i suppose i get the client config right. On the client: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\BBWin\hostname > kopp On the server: /etc/hobbit/bb-hosts: 194.47.130.33 kopp # COMMENT:"Test PC" I have no group-except in the bb-hosts file. /etc/hobbit/hobbit-clients.cfg: HOST=kopp UP 1h LOAD 5.0 10.0 DISK c 90 95 MEMPHYS 70 97 MEMSWAP 50 80 MEMACT 90 97 But i don't need the hobbit-clients.cfg config for the klient.....i suppose...... I had a bb-host entry that looked like the following: 128.210.003.177 zorn.math.purdue.edu # \ bbd ntp ssh smtp imaps pop3s \ http://hobbit.math.purdue.edu/ \ https://helpdesk.math.purdue.edu/ \ TRENDS:vmstat:vmstat2|vmstat3|vmstat6|vmstat7|\ vmstat8|vmstat9|vmstat0,\ netstat:netstat0|netstat1|netstat2|netstat3 In the above format I would not get vmstat[8,9,0] TRENDS but I would get the netstat TRENDS.
