I renamed the BBSERVERHOSTNAME in hobbitserver.cfg to the same as my BBDISPLAY in bb-hosts. So far, so good. It has at least stayed up for 7 minutes! I'll let you know if that changes. [hobbit] URL Problem

I agree that it is most likely an apache problem, but I do not know where. Here is the virtual host container for hobbit from my apache config. Maybe someone with more experience/knowledge might be able to pinpoint it. I'll continue to RTFM and google :) I did not use the Alias that was provided by hobbit's apache-config example. I instead used the DocumentRoot definition for this vhost. Is this not a good idea? The only other "websites" on this server are internal for my team only, documentation and such. Nothing is being presented to the web from this server. Hobbit 4.0 RC2 After launching hobbit, it will only stay active for five minutes, then it dies. Hi I made a release on sourceforge for hobbitclient-0.3: a free software disk/cpu/memory client-side monitor for Hobbit or BB. Reminder: this program uses an OS-dependant back-end, and the only back-end available for far is NetBSD. Has anyone had issues with secure cgi's? Both maint.pl and bb-ack.sh have stopped working since they've been moved from cgi-bin to cgi-secure. The error is the generic IE error: " The page you are looking for might have been removed, had its name changed, or is temporarily unavailable " Regards, Rick

Changing the frequency for individual tests

I have read through all of the documentation and I wanted to get clarification on network tests. Is there a way in hobbit to change the frequency of tests for hosts? Example, I ftp and http tests running against myhost.mydomain.com, can I have the http test run every 60 seconds because that's where we make money and run the ftp service check every 5 minutes because it is less critical. I apologize ifg this is in the documentation. I read through it a few times and couild not find a definitive answer. If this is not psossible, are there plans to add this functionality? Thanks

Disk RRD problem with older BB client

Hi All I noticed if a BB Client (like 1.8b3) reports the host name with comma instead of dot (.) it fails to create RRD files. For new BB Client (bb1.9e) it sends the host name with dots and it created the RRD for disk just fine Here is a sample RRD error in larrd-status.log file 2005-02-15 14:18:26 RRD error creating /export/home/hobbit/data/rrd/host.ip.qwest.net/disk,/dev/md/dsk/d0.rrd: creating '/export/home/hobbit/data/rrd/host.ip.qwest.net/disk,/dev/md/dsk/d0.rrd': No such file or directory You see it tried to convert the commas into dots but didn't quite workout I can go ahead and upgrade BB Client on the hosts unless there is a way I can convert the commas in the FQDNs to dots in a Hobbit way. Greetings again, Just noticed that out of the box, I was unable to view many of the online man pages, getting a misleading "permission denied" while trying. I'm using apache to serve up the pages. This occurs because by default, apache associates the cgi-script handler with any filename containing ".cgi". I fixed this on my server by changing the following line in my httpd.conf AddHandler cgi-script .cgi ->to-> AddHandler cgi-script .cgi$ This forces the match to only occur if the ".cgi" is at the end of the filename (duh) :) Might consider renaming the filenames in the release, so this isn't an issue?
