OK, I'm lost! I am trying to define and build alternate pagesets but I am not sure where I made my mistakes! I ahe defined one pageset as follows: testpage win Windows Systems testsubpage win2000 win2000 systems And then I put the tag in the host file as such: 192.168.1.4 zeus # TEST:win2000 192.168.1.2 hercules # TEST:win2000 192.168.1.5 hermes # TEST:win2000 But no extra page shows up! >From the man pages, it says: All of this just defines the layout of the new pageset. To generate it, you must run bbgen once for each pageset you define - i.e. add something like this to your bb-display.sh: BBWEB="/bb/os" $BBHOME/bin/bbgen \ --pageset=os --template=os \ $BBHOME/www/os/ How do I do this?? Where is bb-display.sh?? I know these instructions were written for someone running bbgen on top of the normal BB setup But is there a way to use it on Hobbit? Please advise? Thanks Kevin

NK view and pagesets

Do the NK tags carry over the NK pages generated for alternate pagsets? I like the NK concept, but also like using the pageset templates to create custom interfaces for our Network Operations team. - Brian

'conn' history pages all showing red

So I just noticed that if I click on the 'conn' monitor, and then the HISTORY button, all my hosts are showing red on that histogram. Yet everything is fine otherwise. ssh log file messages

I'm sure someone has thought about this... Using either hobbit or BBGen, I get lots of messages in the log file from the sshd daemon complaining about bbuser trying to log in: Mar 10 11:51:47 ns1 sshd[30081]: Bad protocol version identification 'quit' from ::ffff:198.214.232.10 Mar 10 11:51:47 ns1 sshd(pam_unix)[30082]: authentication failure; logname= uid=0 euid=0 tty=NODEVssh ruser= rhost=bolt.austinenergy.com user=bbuser I know that I can twiddle bb-services to fix this, but not certain what I should send... Anyone with an example that connects quietly?

Yea I know abt the graphs but it doesn't show the traffic if configured for a router, or a switch, the conn just shows the ping response from the hobbit server to the switch/router. Please correct me if I am wrong. I want to see the traffic of a switch or a router same as shown as http://demo.bb4.com/cgi-bin/bb-hostsvc.sh?HOSTSVC=demo,bb4,com.mrtg . I use mrtg with hobbit. Works great! I used it with bigbrother with the bbmrtg.sh script on deadcat and just moved it over to hobbit. Excluding Hosts from Paging at certain times

Hi there, Not sure if this is the right place to be sending this as I've only just subscribed and the emails dont quite say exactly where to email but here goes. We have just upgraded from bb after 5 years or so to hobbit and we're not looking back. We have some servers that have to be rebooted on a daily basis due to some of the poorly written software (not by us) that runs on them. I have tred using the DOWNTIME= option on the BB hosts but it only seems to ignore the net tests like http, conn etc. The server still has the bb client installed on it so when the server comes back up the bb client starts before some of the monitored services start and therefore marks them red and we get paged on them. Given our worldwide customer base we still want to know about the issues 24x7 except for the 10 mins or so when it reboots. BB used to have the option of putting in something like !host:time:email and it wouldnt page at that particular time for that hosts. Just wondering if someone can suggest the best way to work around this. We have one alert that goes out via email and then to sortof a mailing list, and then another line that does email-to-pager. Hi, I'm reading man-pages and Tips and Tricks. In Tips and Tricks I read about Apache graphs and I tested it. Of course it worked. But my question is: Where do I find documentation about available graphs? I also read about "Unsecure path...." from Perl. We also had some mails about this SetEnv. I never got it to work.
