For anyone using 'logrotate', the following file will rotate all the hobbit logs. netstat statistic problem

Hi, I just discovered a problem with hobbit and netstat statistics. It seems that hobbit cannot handle values greater than 2^31. When I look at the netstat graphs of some of our hosts, the values of the in and out packets suddenly fell down to zero. When I call netstat -s on the hosts, the number of segments received or send out are above 2^31. The graphs from hosts where the values are below this limit are normal. Regards, Dirk

empty rrdgraph

I did some cleaning this morning and threw away old disk rrd files that were no longer in use. After I restarted hobbit, I now have 12 rrd graphs under DISK column but only 10 contains any data. How do I remove the other 2 that are blank ? They do not show up under trends (e.g the blank rrd graphs) -- Jon Bjorn Njalsson <jonbjorn at hi.is>

Hi all, I've heard from a Nagios(?)-feature that I would like to see in (a future) Hobbit release very much, alerting based on dependies. Let me explain why: Suppose two red conditions: 1-a disk failure (hardware error) -> support rep A is warned 2-an application failure on that particular disk -> support rep B is warned but... It's no use alerting support rep B while that disk is still unavailable. You would like to be warned after the disk has recovered or replaced. Than error 1 will be green again, but it is possible that test 2 still has errors. So I would like to set up a sort of dependancy between test 2 and 1. Alert me for the application, but the disk must be useable (status green). Will this be possible some day? Peter Welter

[BB] bb-hosts, DNS name for BBDISPLAY?

Is there any reason you would want anything more than one line in your bb-hosts file on the client? Does the client have to have an IP address, or could you use the DNS name? If I can use the DNS name, why wouldn't I want to do that? It almost looks like if I set the address to 0.0.0.0, it will use the DNS name? Or at least the name I have in bb-hosts. bbgen bbtest hobbitd missing

I have two hobbit servers, one is running 4.01 the other 4.02. The 4.01 server has columns for the hobbit server named bbgen bbtest and hobbitd that the 4.02 machine does not list for itself. It does have a bbd column which is not listed on the 4.01 server for itself. Was this a change, or is something awry? Thanks, Michael

If you think releases of Hobbit are too far and few in between, I've setup a job that packs up a snapshot of my development sources once a day around midnight (Central European Time - ie. 6 PM US East Coast time). This is a completely automatic thing, so there is no guarantee whatsoever that this is at all usable - it may not compile, and using it is entirely at your own risk. HOBBIT 4.0.3 ignoring bb-dftab

I upgraded from BB to HOBBIT 4.0.3rc2 and notice that HOBBIT seems to be ignoring the entries in bb-dftab. How do I troubleshoot the problem?
