Disk RRD problem with hobbit-client and OSF1 (Tru64)

Hi! I'm using hobbit 4.1.2 server and clients. Some of my OSF1 (Tru64 4.0&5.1) clients' filesystems are being captured in RRD by mountpoint name and others by the device/domain. Backup server for HOBBIT

I have searched the HOBBIT archive but cannot find anything on setting up a hot standby HOBBIT server that receives input from the clients along with the primary server but does not send out alerts unless the primary server goes down. Any howto's on this? Thanks in advance for any help/hints. Larrd graphs not working

I'm trying to help a coworker debug/fix Hobbit running on Linux 7.2. I know BB pretty well, but I'm just learning Hobbit. Everything on the Hobbit install works fine, except the larrd historical graphs. For example at the bottom of machine X's disk page the icon for the larrd is grayed out. I can click on it and see the next three grayed out icons which should be larrd graphs. I have looked at things like permissions, read some documentation, etc. This is new territory and we need to get the data there. This was working at one time, a change was made and now it does not work. We are not sure what change was made. multiple graphs from an ncv test

I have a test that picks up about 30 things and puts them in an rrd. I was graphing one originally, and that one still works, but I'm not sure how to get everything graphed. "TRENDS:*,afs:afs|afs1|afs2" only shows the original afs graph on both the afs test page and the trends page, and the trends page shows "hobbit graph afs1" & "hobbit graph afs2". Is there more to having multiple graphs work for a test? http tests for multiple web servers on different ports on the same host?

I seem to be missing something -- maybe not enough caffiene yet today. How do I do simple response tests for multiple web servers on the same IP at different ports? As far as we are concerned (currently) *the* web server is unavailable if *either* component fails to respond. hobbit-clients.cfg default question

In the hobbit-clients.cfg it says this about the default # DEFAULT: Set the default values that apply if no other rules match. # So I added a line DEFAULT PROC sendmail 0 0 And in on of my clients entry I have HOST=hostname.xxx.yyy.zzz PROC sendmail 2 10 I want all my clients to signal if there is a sendmail running except for my mail server hostname. Yet I get two entries for sendmail one for the default and one for the HOST=. On the mail server one sendmail is blinking read and one is green. New System - Graphs not working:

I am currently running hobbit.4.1.2p1 -- the OS is Suse Linux 10.0 running in a VM partition I have been running Hobbit on a stand a lone box running Suse Linux 9.x. All was running great then I was taxed with the job to getting rid of the extra box and putting it on a VM partition. I setup the partition and the new OS copied all of hobbit over and relinked with the new OS and everything is working except the Graphs: I am getting the ALT instead of the graph on all windows; I have checked everything I could think of, no errors in the logs after I relinked. The new OS is using rrdtools -version "RRDtool 1.2.11" instead of 1.0 - on the old OS but the link shows it did to find 1.0 and used 1.2 I have dumped the data bases and see the data and current updates fine.
