Oops, spoke too soon! Every 5 minutes im getting 6 lines of "Cannot bind to listen socket (Address already in use)". Network tests are now fine and are showing up on both servers displays fine. Is this something to do with the local bbgen? It only gives its report to the local server so is it interfering? I added the BBDISP value into the bbretest-net.sh script also. I use the NET: tag in bbhosts to locally test servers on the machine that's receiving info from other hobbit servers also. This setting is used e.g. by the web CGI's that talk to the "real" hobbit server, so it is best to point this at the real server IP, not the proxy. * If you run network tests from the same server, then you probably need to change the CMD setting in hobbitlaunch.cfg also. Instead of calling bbtest-net directly, put it into a shell script wrapper and set BBDISP explicitly to the 5.6.7.8 address before running bbtest-net. 4.2 - does logfile monitoring alert on empty file?

Does the new log file monitoring have the ability to alert on empty log files? I would like to be alerted if a log file is empty for longer than 16, 21 or 31 minutes. Most of our systems are set to 15 or 20 minute MARK's. Thanks, John

Hi, We would like certain managers to receive alerts when any status change from green to purple/yellow/red on the top page. We've put this directive in hobbit-alert.cfg: PAGE=/ MAIL x.y at example.com REPEAT=24h RECOVERED but the recipient does never get mailed. What am I missing? Dominique

Hi, From the top page we have 2 subpages like this: title Academic & Administrative Services page backupServ Backup 1.2.3.4 host1 ... title Test & Development page backupTest Backup 1.2.3.5 host2 Now if we search host1 with find host we see only the link "Backup", and thus loose the information from the title. Is there a way to tell find host (and the info column) to display titles together with page-titles like "Test & Development/Backup" Dominique

ping trouble

I have a branch on my network that returns about 85% of pings(don't ask). Is there someway I can tune fping(or ping) to try more than 1 time before setting the conn to red and notifiying people? It would be nice if it could send a couple of pings and only care that at least one ICMP echo gets back. Thanks, Joe Kezar

Greetings, I have a question. In bb-hosts to setup Basic Authentication you use: http://USERNAME:PASSWORD at www.sample.com/ I have a login to use that requires the username to be an email address. So I have: http://first.last at somewhere.com:secretpass at www.sample.com/ How can I escape this? thanks, steve
