Re-visiting this topic again, as I seem to be unable to turn on the disk1 graphs, either in the trends column, or in the normal disk display. LARRDS is used to figure out how a status report is parsed to extract the RRD data; GRAPHS is used to decide which graphs show up on the "trends" page. So you'll want to add it to the GRAPHS setting. hi, there, I have both client & server of 4.2-RC-20060712 on Redhat Linux 9. Other RHL9 clients work fine. One, mysteriously, failed to start. hobbitclient.logshows it tries to bond with 127.0.0.1:1984, as fails miserably. As in other clients, I define the bb server's IP address in /etc/default/hobbit-client. -x execution of the init script seems it did source the /etc/default/hobbit-client and got the correct bb server IP address. Any idea ? This RH9 boxen doesn't have bind-util package installed, that's the only difference I can think of.

Hello, Are the "Scheduled actions" stored somewhere in a file or in a list on the Hobbit server ? Or is there an other way to list them than via the enable/disable interface ? Thanks. Solaris proc listing reporting multiple process that don't appear to exist.

I have 11 Sun V210 machines that have same version of hobbit client installed (hobbit-4.2-beta-20060605) and 10 of them report correctly on my procs tests. However, one does not - it reports the multple copies of some processes when there is one of each and no copies of others when the processes are clearly visable in the process listing. I believe the client is reporting correctly but the server is having some trouble working it out. Config in hobbit-clients.cfg on the server is below and works for lo-dev01, lo-dev02... lo-dev10. RRD Data Extraction

Hello - One of the admins that I work with needs to pull hard performance numbers (CPU, IOSTAT, etc) from the hobbit system in order to run a few analysis that he is needing to do. Is there an easy way (within hobbit) to get the numbers associated with the various graphs? If not, how would I go about pulling the data? Just wanted to give everyone a heads up on the new monitor site that is being set up (theshire.sf.net)...Sourceforge accepted it late last night ( around midnight EDT). I want to work with Henrik a bit to make sure that our visions converge on this. I also need to set up the categories (at a minimum) before turning everyone loose...I would prefer there to be some structure in place beforehand. Please be patient...I really appreciate everyone's enthusiasm for this project and I hope to have everything going in the next few days. It's also been a LONG time since I've done anything on SF and need to refresh my memory about things (and become familiar with some of the new tools). =G=

URL generated for RSS feeds

I added the --rss option to bbgen and can see the rss file both in ~/server/www and via Firefox. Where is the URL generated on the .rss file? It uses the hostname 'hobbit', whereas all of the icon links on the web pages use the IP address. Check the server's /etc/hosts file. RH has a bad habit of setting the fqdn to 127.0.0.1..... In my opinion, the server's fqdn should be the external IP address, and only "localhost" should be 127.0.0.1.... [hobbit] Force client to update data

Is there a way to force the Hobbit clients to update their data to the server? Often times I'll be adding new process checks or otherwise modifying existing tests, and would like to be able to see their status updated on the Hobbit server. Right now, that means waiting 5 minutes for the client to get the new/updated checks, and then waiting another 5 minutes for it to report back to the server. However, I *don't* have any reason/need to adjust this time globally. I would like to force an update only once in a while, when making changes to the client tests. Is there currently any way to do this?
