In Big Brother, there was an unmatched rule where you could send a message to anything that did not match a rule to a specified email address. How would I accomplish this in Hobbit?

Possible bug related to logfetch in 4.2.0

I have a hobbit server running on RHEL 4 and the client for that server is reporting everything except for files and msgs. This may be some other configuration, but what I've narrowed it down to is BBDISP and BBDISPLAYS. When I have BBDISP set to 0.0.0.0 and BBDISPLAYS set to the (2) IP addresses (itself and another server) of the two servers I have, the logfetch.server.cfg file isn't created. Actually it seems to be created with zero bytes and then deleted. When I change BBDISP to its own IP address and null BBDISPLAYS, the logfetch.server.cfg file is created and everything starts working. Is this a configuration problem that I'm not understanding? Thanks.

Maybe you could sink to ntp from the vm, we do that for most of our vm's. The only problem we had with it was due to the time drifting... Because the VM does not run 100% of the time, the clock can fall behind. This was especially apparent on Fedora... How to graph iostats?

I have a server with some performance issues, and we'd like to graph disk access (as opposed to utilization). iostat provides the raw data. I see references in hobbitgraph.cfg to an iostat graph type. I see iostat in the TEST2RRD and the GRAPHS variable. I don't know how to feed the raw data to hobbit so that the graph will appear. I tried loading the bb-iostats.sh script, which creates a nice green dot called vmio, but no graphs... Can somebody lend me a clue-by-4? FYI... If I manually check the data/histlogs for the server/test I find the log the query is looking for. Monitoring LOG files on host A and sending status for host B

Hi, I have some hardware with only syslog facility. So I have setup them to send syslog messages to my admin server (host A). Now, I need to monitor these specific syslog files, sending status for these hosts (host 'B'). Any idea ?

Ghost Report Not Showing

Hello, I am having an issue where the ghost report will not show up. All the feedback I get from the cgi in the browser is: "Failed to retrive ghostlist from server". This feature was working before but is not now for some reason. Any things that I can check? I believe I checked every log file in /var/log/hobbit/ but didn't see anything that would indicate this not working. Thanks. Geoff

And incidentally, the BB server I'm running on another host *does* show yellow. I'm trying to validate my hobbit configuration by making sure it matches the running BB server.
