Todays "snapshot"

interesting patterns in graphs

Our ping times occasionally turn up graphs like the attached... It seems to me that this is an artifact of how rrd averages multiple into time "buckets" but I am not quite sure of that... anybody have an opinion as to what causes it? [hobbit] Problem with hobbitd_rrd custom graph

Hi Henrik, Thanks for this, my values were defined as GAUGE but the problem was fixed by the patch submitted by Graham Nayler. This hobbit install is running a 4.3 snapshot from late 2007. See this mail for the referenced fix: http://www.hswn.dk/hobbiton/2008/09/msg00283.html After applying, I can confirm that values are coming into the database at every run so far. [hobbit] Who uses Hobbit?

I just added to the wiki yesterday and wonder about that for me too. I run a lot of pseudo host; mostly markers for licenses and web pages. Is that repeated (host)names or ips . I wonder is anything can be done to "fix" this. Maybe ignoring 0.0.0.0 ips?
