Hi, Could you help me with configuring NCV please. I want to graph "USERS ACTIVE". If there is a plain "USERS ACTIVE: x" Then graph is made fine, but if there is something more I get: 2008-11-04 14:04:30 RRD error updating /home/hob/hob/data/rrd/host1/rbackup.rrd from 127.0.0.1: tmplt contains more DS definitions than RRD How can I tell NCV to ignore everything beyond "USERS ACTIVE" line? Hobbit: Run Scripts

Hi, I am looking at being able to run a global script on all servers that are monitored by Hobbit. How can i accomplish this task? (The script is created by us and I am looking at incorporating this script to run at a specific time weekly) Any help/suggestion would be great. Regards, Sanu

Hello all, I'm tired of beating my head against the wall and thought I'd ask the group. My guess is that this is probably simple, but I'm not seeing it. I have a client box in my DMZ that is only accessible via ssh. The client is running and is regularly generating the msg.system_name.txt. I'm attempting to feed that data into the server via the following command: ssh client cat /usr/local/hobbit/client/tmp/msg.client.txt | /usr/local/hobbit/client/bin/bb --debug server "@" The debug output looks successful as this is its display: 2008-11-04 07:53:28 Transport setup is: 2008-11-04 07:53:28 bbdportnumber = 1984 2008-11-04 07:53:28 bbdispproxyhost = NONE 2008-11-04 07:53:28 bbdispproxyport = 0 2008-11-04 07:53:28 Recipient listed as 'server' 2008-11-04 07:53:28 Standard BB protocol on port 1984 2008-11-04 07:53:28 Will connect to address ushq-uxadm01 port 1984 2008-11-04 07:53:28 Connect status is 0 2008-11-04 07:53:28 Sent 17306 bytes 2008-11-04 07:53:28 Closing connection The problem is that I'm not seeing any updates on the web interface. The first time I tried to run the command, I did get the page updated, but subsequent updates seem to do nothing. On the server, I've also run this to see if the server is actually receiving the data (which it is): ./bbcmd hobbitd_channel --channel=client --log=/tmp/duh.log hobbitd_client -debug Of all the times I've attempted the update, I have 3 distinct data points where it was actually updated. What am I missing? It's obviously not clear to my dense head. Thanks in advance.

Solaris clients don't report

Hi all, I can't get any solaris clients to report to the Hobbit server. I build the clients on the servers like I have with the all my linux clients, but none seem to report. They are all running solaris 10. There isn't anything blocking port 1984 between the boxes. The only difference I see is that I am using "gmake" instead of "make" to build the client. Could that be the problem? https test got "HTTP error 0"

Hi, We got a weird problem recently when setting up another Hobbit server, all https tests failed, got "HTTP error 0". I tried running bbtest-net with debug, and got following: 2008-11-04 04:14:04 1 tests pending - 1 active tests 2008-11-04 04:14:04 Doing select 2008-11-04 04:14:05 select returned 1 2008-11-04 04:14:05 read -1 bytes from socket Seems Hobbit couldn't get anything from that URL, but if I use wget (have to use --no-check-certificate since we tests IP directly), can still get contents. I know this may be more related to the network infrastructure the new Hobbit server is in, but if you got same issue before, please help share your experiences. Thanks, Samuel Cai

Thanks very much for this! It will certainly save me some time. One issue I've noticed is that the EXHOST's remain space separated and not comma separated. It's far from perfect, but might help you save some labor. We also used host groups and page groups fairly extensively in bbwarnsetup.cfg.
