[bbwin-users] [hobbit] BBWIN Client running on Exchange serve r issues?

Thanks for the response. We are running BBWIN 0.9 in local mode. All columns produced by BBWIN turn purple, in time. The last time BBWIN hung on our two servers 1 reported 340 out of 1400+ messages matched, the other report 748 out of 2589 matched. I am the Unix guy in the shop. I brought hobbit on-board. I would need theses informations : Are you running BBWin with central or local mode ? Do you have some columns which turn to purple color ? Could you check the msgs columns to see how many events are reported ? Could you try to run BBWin for a week without these agents : stats.dll, msgs.dll (and filesystem.dll if you are running the central mode) to see if the behavior is the same or not ? zonestat : where are graphs ?

Hi, I've read the question on the list...but can't find the answer. zonestat seems to work on client....but there's nothing on server ? I've followed the doc for installation...is there something to add in bbhosts ?

[hobbit] Hobbitd_client on server is crashing

Solved it (possible bug?): The hostname of the server was configured as tac0.lon.ws.colt.net when I installed the Hobbit client however the machine was rebooted last week and for reasons I have yet to figure out its hostname was reset to tac0. It seems that this caused the program to crash (though it doesn't make sense to me). Hello, I have implemented dbcheck.pl and it's great. In "trend" column i have graphics for Oracle Sessions/Users and Pin/Hit Cache. Somebody has you it implemented a follow-up of the tablespaces ? Have you définition for config. files hobbitserver.cfg, hobbitgraph.cfg, .. Best regards.

metrics reports and Solaris 10 systems

Greetings; I have a question about how the systems on the metrics pull-down are selected. I have about 20 systems and domains running Solaris 10 with multiple containers on each global system. Both the globals and the containers run hobbit clients. But when I try to run a metrics report, I only see a small selection of systems in the pull-down. Still hoping this could be fixed soon? Having to scroll the bb2 page for hosts with long descriptions like contact and vendor info is a pain. If the list server allows it, I have attached an image of my bb2.html page. bb2 is our primary view and, as you can see from the image, tooltips pushes all the hobbit columns out of the view to the right. Tooltips are the text you see when you hover over items like the smiley's in hobbit? 2 hobbit servers on the same hardware

Hi, Is is possible to run 2 hobbit servers on the same server ? I need a hobbit server for our SLA servers and an other hobbit server for the rest. And I want to run in on the same server. I copied the server directory and changed all the needed files. Each hobbit server is listening on an other port. However, the client information is ending up on1 hobbit server. I think this has to with the way the hobbit daemons are communicating with each other. Stef

But it seems such a shame to tie up a fixed amount of memory, disk etc and have the extra burden of another copy of OS as well as the bridged network etc just to run another instance of an application. Unix is a wonderful OS and is so good at scaling I just don't see this as a good use of virtualisation (IMHO) I have gone down the path of recompiling for the second install. Using hobbit's larrd with Big Brother

I am running Big Brother version 3.3. My company appreciates the support from Quest which is why we have not converted to Hobbit. I was wondering if there is a way to use the portion of hobbit that generates the larrd graphs with Big Brother. We are having performance issues when running larrd on the DISPLAY Server and I know that the Hobbit Version will help us.
