Hello, Could we have a cgi (like hobbit-topchanges.cgi) to get a listing of flapping logs ? (having them is hobbitd is fine, but i'ld like user to be able to search/filter events from a cgi, instead of from the logfile...) Regards, Olivier

Can Hobbit talk over an ssh tunnel?

I have a client behind a fairly tight firewall that is controlled at a much higher level than me. Getting port 1984 authorized is something that is not going to happen, but port 22 is open going both ways. As user "bb" on the server, or on the client, I can ssh from one system to the other without a password prompt. Is there a way to convince Hobbit to talk over an ssh tunnel? Is there a limit on the number of hosts that can polled?

Once I start to get around 2700 hosts hobbit stops updating. Is there a cause for this in hobbit (memory or host limit)? Top shows my system with very little utilization of memory or cpu and all hosts go purple for no updates. I can get hobbit updating again by commenting out hosts and restarting it but I still have roughly another fifteen hundred hosts to enter. I have been adding the hosts in slowly in groups of less than two hundred which seems to work better as I was seeing everything go purple at under two thousand hosts before. Monitor Solaris zone from Shire

Hi and happy new year afterwards ! :-) I've got a problem with the monitor's script from Shire mpstat and zonestat .. maybe basicly :-( I take it, that i've had to run concorruntley both (?!) on the global-zone, nothing more on client-side ... On the Hobbit-Server i've to change a) hobbitlaunch.cfg [rrddata] ENVFILE /home/hobbit/server/etc/hobbitserver.cfg NEEDS hobbitd CMD hobbitd_channel --channel=data --log=$BBSERVERLOGS/rrd-data.log hobbitd_rrd --extra-tests=mpstat,zonestat --extra-script=/home/hobbit/server/ext/rrd_data.pl --rrddir=$BBVAR/rrd b) hobbitgraph.cfg : the entries for mpstatusr|mpstatsys|mpstatwt|mpstatidl zonestatcpu|zonestatmem|zonestatnproc|zonestatsize|zonersssize c) further ext-script rrd_data.pl d) In the opposite of the webside, i've changed the entry in bb-hosts from 0.0.0.0 myserver # zonestat:zonestatcpu|zonestatmem|zonestatnproc|zonestatsize|zonersssize to real.IP-Number myserver # TRENDS:*,zonestat:zonestatcpu|zonestatmem|zonestatnproc|zonestatsize|zonersssize,mpstat:mpstatusr|mpstatsys|mpstatwt|mpstatid .. because i've got a second entry of the same type but nothing more ... Hi ! I'm new to this ML, and I'm almost a script dev (almost is the most accurate word in this mail). I created a script to monitor game servers activity. It reports the number of player on a server. The ouput is formated as it : &global_color $machine.$test <many words> &color server1 is OK|NOK Players: <INTEGER> I followed the ~(hobbit|xymon)/help/howtograph.html help file, and i get my graph when I monitor 1 game server. My script supports several game servers monitoring, but I can't find a way to have graph for all of them, like the http tests do (1 test, many URL tested, and one graph with all URL on it). Can someone help me ? Sorry for my poor english, I'm better in speaking my homeland language ;)
