Hobbit 4.2.0 install on hpux 11.31

I am trying to load the xymon client (hobbit) on HPUX 11.31. I have untarred the hobbit-4.2.0.tar file and commented out the declaration in /usr/local/hobbit-4.2.0/lib/osdefs.h HAVE_SOCKLEN_T as follows: /* #ifndef HAVE_SOCKLEN_T typedef unsigned int socklen_t; #endif */ I set the MAKE variable to /usr/local/bin/gmake and ran the configure.client successfully. When I run /usr/local/bin/gmake I get the following error: /usr/include/sys/socket.h:326: error: expected specifier-qualifier-list before 'socklen_t' gmake[1]: *** [cgiurls.o] Error 1 gmake[1]: Leaving directory `/usr/local/hobbit-4.2.0/lib' gmake: *** [lib-client] Error 2 Any ideas where I'm going wrong. Also this same procedure works fine on HPUX 11.23. Thanks Bob Manocchia

Find hosts running bb client

I still have few servers that are running bb client and not hobbit client. Is there a hobbit way to find out which servers still running bb-client? Graph ports

Hi all! I test some ports on servers and I want to graph some of them. I add a TRACK on the line in hobbit-clients.cfg but no lines are the graph. My example : PORT LOCAL=%[\.:]80 MIN=0 STATE=ESTABLISHED "TEXT=nombre de connections HTTP" TRACK=http In hobbit's display it counts the socket number but no graph is displayed. hobbit proc test and grsecurity

Hi, I have a hobbit server installed that monitor different servers. Those that have kernel without grsecurity installed for kernel, i have no problems to monitor processes. Those that have grsec, i don't know how to do it. The client run in user hobbit so he can't see other processes from other users. Anyone had a solution for it ? Kind regards, Denis ROY

Wrong URL with new version?

Hi, for testing I installed the new version on a new server. I choose to use the old structure /home/hobbit and not /home/xymon, copied the old conf files with appropriate changes (BBDISPLAY). The generated hobbit-apache.conf contains only 3 chances (xymon instead of hobbit) Xymon works, but when I try to access the web pages, only the start page is accessible (http://my.new.host/hobbit/bb.html) The gif images are not shown. When I try to access a subpage, a 404 occurs. That is correct, because it tries to call http://my.new.host/hobbit/hobbit/subpage/subpage.html. Note the second "hobbit" in the URL. Any hints where it does come from? Difference between the servers: the old one is Mandrake with DocumentRoot /var/www/html and the new one is OpenSUSE 11.0 with DocumentRoot /srv/www/htdocs. The files are owned by user oracle and the file permissions are so strict, so that the hobbit user cannot even list the files. This is confirmed when looking into the client data sent to the server: . [file:/opt/oracle/product/j2ee/applications/appl.ear] ERROR: Permission denied . [hobbit] bb-ack

I am running Red Hat release 4 and the latest snapshot. I am also running Apache 2.0.52. When I try to acknowledge an alert it shows me ALL the services that are alarming not just the alert I was interested in. Any idea what I can do to debug? I tried copying the .cgi binary from my other Hobbit/Xymon server that works but that failed to make any difference. I also compared some of the hobbit .cfg files but couldn't find anything that would account for the different behavior. ~David

Xen Monitor from Shire

Hi ! My problem with the xen-monitor from shire is like follows : My Maschine it-services01 Dom0 is running the mi-vt.py client-script with following modify bbhome = '/usr/lib/hobbit/client' bbtest = 'vt' domain = ',desy,de' hobbit_server = 'it-hobbit.desy.de' test_explanation = 'Virtual Machine Status' like described on shire .. but after starting, there are three new entries in the ghostlist it-services01vt 193.159.66.187 0:07 n1geqmvt 193.159.66.187 0:07 n1gexhvt 193.159.66.187 0:07 and nothing appears on the Page of the Dom0 it-services01 ....
