hello, i want to know whether there is any availability for external module/plugin/script for ticket raising or inventory for xymon-4.2.2.i found one o deadcat.net i.e. "trouble_ticket_0.2.tgz";but is not that much useful..we want to keep record for all tickets raised for that client also some inventory like module for the same -- Pankaj V. webpage: adding links to the index

Hello everyone. I've ran into some trouble and am wondering how to add a link to the main page of xymon. I was able to do it and it would appear but it would always reset. Is xymon constantly regenerating every time? How can i add a permanent link on the main page? I've tried to edit the index.html in the /www/ directory but it would reset. I've also added another html document in the /www/notes/responsibilities.html for the link so when there is a problem the person monitoring can know who to call. Any help would be appreciated. How to disable standard columns?

Hi guys, I want to disable some standard columns (files and ports) but every time I remove these colomns, they come back with the next check. I dont know if its the right way to disable the "ports" column, but I uncommented these lines in hobbitclient-aix.sh and its disabled now: #echo "[ports]" #netstat -an | grep "^tcp" For the "files" column I couldnt find anything to uncomment. Does someone know how to disable it? TIA, Cayo

This is a write up of my recent effort to debug and understand error message in rrd-[status|data].log files. What is the problem ? xymon(hobbit) client can send two pairs of data at the same time stamp. "/usr/bin/kstat -p -s '[or]bytes64'| sort" will give out wrsmd and mac info on a solaris 10 box. and causing bge:1:mac:obytes64 try to overwrite bge:0:mac:obytes64, thus the error of "minimum one second step" 1. with wrsmd filtered out only hobbit at test$ /usr/bin/kstat -p -s '[or]bytes64'|egrep -v wrsmd | sort bge:0:bge0:obytes64 50828816355 bge:0:bge0:rbytes64 81490514060 bge:0:mac:obytes64 50828816355 bge:0:mac:rbytes64 81490514060 bge:1:mac:obytes64 0 bge:1:mac:rbytes64 0 bge:2:mac:obytes64 0 bge:2:mac:rbytes64 0 bge:3:mac:obytes64 0 bge:3:mac:rbytes64 0 2. fping options for speed

I understand most people run fping rather than hobbitping due to the issues with hobbitping not accurately reporting the roundtrip times... but running fping on 4100+ hosts can take up to 120 seconds in my environment, it seems. Has anyone used any specific options on their FPING configuration setting to optimize fping performance for this purpose? Thanks for any suggestions. -Alan

Columns Display

I was wondering, I've got quite a few test know, and the number of columns is getting very long. Is there a way to break up the Display so that under each main group heading, it removes any columns in that group that don't have any data. Thanks.James

xmon 4.3 - COMPACT: usage

The bb-hosts for 4.3 includes the following: COMPACT:COLUMN=COLUMN1,COLUMN2,COLUMN3[;ditto] Collapses a series of statuses into a single column on the overview webpage. Has anyone used this successfully, or has an example of usage? When I've tried this, it does not create a new column on display, but it does seem to make all the tests I list except for the first one unclickable (other words, clicking the icon seems to do nothing). -Alan

Is xymon 2.2.0 compatible to display graphs for the pc and ec of power 5 systems? I've tried to do what the wiki says but i can't find the source to change so it will allow it. We wanna be able to see what the lpars are doing. Any ideas?. A different RECOVERED message problem!

Hi all, This seems to be a bug (or at least a flaw) in the alerting system (on hobbit trunk from Dec 2008): a recovery is sent for a MAIL alert that never actually sent an alert in the first place. The last two lines in the notifications.log are recoveries that were sent at the exact same time. But only 1 alert (alarm) was actually sent out. One of the alert lines triggers on persistent alarms (including yellow alarms), while the other is immediate but for red only. Both have RECOVERED alerts. The test was only red for 2 minutes, so only the first MAIL rule fired initially. It seems that the RECOVERED part does not check that this line actually triggered an alert before sending the recovered message!
