same test appearing multiple times in 'info' page for several hosts...

To make a long story short, the server running xymon crashed (UPS failure). Now I have several hosts which are showing purple status icons for all tests, but if you click on the purple icon, the subsequent page is green. Viewing the trend graphs shows that the host is reporting data, and the data/<host>/*.rrd files are updating as expected. Display page configure to display page (bb-hosts file) to have pages inside group-only tag

Hello, we have cluster to be monitored in which each row having several racks and each rack having several nodes.Now i want display like [?]-red, [?]-green group-only conn|cpu|disk|ssh row1-rack1 [?] [?] [?] [?] row1-rack2 [?] [?] [?] [?] like this. my row1-rack1 will have 9 nodes inside it each. i.e. when i see main page i should come to know that in row1-rack1,there is problem with a node with service ssh. How to set it in a bb-hosts file? i have more than 40 racks and more than 250 nodes..how do i set a display page to get above requirement? i dont want page and subpage combination as it shows pages hosted localy also do not show which serveice is actully down on the front page itself.for that i need to go to that page and then i come to knopw which service is down. how to do that? -- Pankaj V. Metrics Reports Date/Time Verses Day Only

I've had a lot of users requesting if the Metrics Reports could also utilize a time, instead of the just the Day. Is there a way to change the Metrics Reports to use Times in addition to the Dates? So for example, the user wants to see CPU utilization from 10 am to 4 pm yesterday. Thanks..James

History Custom Script (Client data ID)

We have a custom script that just goes out and grabs a status from a few web sites for a product. It seems to work fine. When we go to the history page for the test, all the change of status is there as you would expect. But when you scroll down and select a colored ball under the status column some of them work and some do not. The ones that do not work generate a browser error that states: File Not Found Firefox can't find the file at https://XXXXXXX/xymon-cgi/bb-histlog.sh?HOST=XXXXXXX&SERVICE=customtest&TIM…. The data file is in the histlogs directory and has the correct name. The data in the file is correct. So we copied the line that says "Client data ID 1234567890" in a history file that displays correctly and replaced the line in a file that does not display correctly. It now shows up fine with the correct data. So maybe the "Client data ID" line is the problem. Replace the line with a known good one and all is well. Checked perms and they seem fine. The httpd error log generates the following when a status is selected that does not display correctly: [Tue Jun 23 12:31:14 2009] [error] [client xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx] Premature end of script headers: bb-histlog.sh, referer: https://XXXXXX/xymon-cgi/bb-hist.sh?HISTFILE=XXXXXX.customtest&ENTRIES=50&I… Error is not generated when a status is selected that displayed correctly. Anyone have an idea on how to fix this? Not really sure how "Client data ID" line is being used or generated. If in fact that is the issue.

Custom RRD Graph Alerting

I have several custom graphs being built in Xymon and would like to alert on the values in the rrd files being generated. I first setup the graphs just to get some kind of idea for trending and now after a few months of graphing I see what is good and what is bad and would like to alert. Has anyone been down this road? Just looking for other ways to get alerts without having to build and touch several systems custom scripts. I found a perl script on cpan that should be able to do this. This may be a way to simplify custom graph alerts by just having the Xymon client on the Xymon server run this script every 5 minutes. actual memory reporting on AIX

Is there anyway to report actual memory on AIX 5.3 clients? The thing is that the old BigBrother client reported actual memory and I have users that don't what to switch to the Hobbit client because of that. I would really like to get those old BB clients off of the system, too. Thanks, Larry Barber

SMART checks for discs

Dear list, I've been looking for a plugin that reports the SMART status for a range of discs in a system. Using smartctl, a lot of variables can be checked. I haven't found anything like that on deadcat or google using hobbit or xymon. Is there such plugin available ? Thanks in advance. Wouter
