Can not compile 4.2.3 on CentOS 5.2

HP-UX 11iv3 memory reporting issue and fix

First I'd like to say thank you to Henrik and the other Xymon developers for all their hard work on this program. We are running Xymon 4.3.0 beta 2 client running on HP-UX 11iv3 Itanium with non default (4k) memory page sizes. We discovered a problem with Xymon memory reporting on HP-UX 11iv3 when we increased memory page sizes from 4k to 16k or 64k. The Xymon program hpux-meminfo located in ~client/bin has incorrect reporting with HP-UX 11iv3 Itanium, for example: On an HP-UX 11iv3 server with 32GB of memory (with about 15GB free) and 16k memory page size the hpux-meminfo program reports: Total:8190 #Looks like the included hpux-meminfo grabs the wrong output lines. Hi, I configure E-mail alert in the "hobbit-alerts.cfg" file. Following is the lines i added into "hobbit-alerts.cfg" file: PAGE=LocalServer COLOR=red MAIL webmaster at tecnotree.com SERVICE=http REPEAT=1m MAIL jayanta at officeid.com SERVICE=cpu,disk,memory,procs I got mail, but at the end of the mail i received following URL: http://Linux/xymon-cgi/bb-hostsvc.sh?HOST=Process1.client.ci&SERVICE=procs<http://linux/xymon-cgi/bb-hostsvc.sh?HOST=crm01.oricel.ci&SERVICE=procs> I need our local XYMON server IP in place of "Linux" in the above URL. In which place(file etc.) need to configure so that i get proper result. Xymon reports excessive memory usage on 1 SLES 11 host

Hi, I have a weird problem on one of my SLES 11 hosts: Tue Dec 14 03:00:52 CET 2010 - Memory CRITICAL Memory Used Total Percentage [cid:image001.gif at 01CB9B73.C1882320] Physical 3803M 3829M 99% [cid:image002.gif at 01CB9B73.C1882320] Actual 17592186044128M 3829M459445966156% [cid:image001.gif at 01CB9B73.C1882320] Swap 0M 2055M 0% - as you can see, it reports an excessive memory usage, and hence turns red and does this 2 times each night. Building the client on Mac OS X 10.6 -> success

Hi I tried to compile the xymon client on Mac OS X 10.6 and ran into the same problem that was reported about a year ago[1]. The problem comes from a namespace collision because the system include files on the Mac now have a file called Availability.h which is meant to be included by /usr/include/stdlib.h . However, xymon has a file lib/availability.h which gets included instead. Unfortunately, the default behaviour for the Mac HFS+ file system is to ignore case so the two files get mixed up. The solution to this is fairly simple. Just drop the -I. from the CFLAGS options. Having -I. should not be necessary anyway because the preprocessor differentiates between #include <file.h> and #include "file.h" precisely to separate system includes from project includes. Once this problem is solved, there are two more problems that will arise. The first one would be the same on all platforms whenever xymon is built without SSL support (not needed on the client). In lib/sendmsg.c TALK_SSLWRITE_RECEIVE will be referenced even though the enum only goes up to TALK_RECEIVE when HAVE_OPENSSL is not defined. The second problem ist with the zlib where the dynamic library for Mac OS X is in /usr/lib/libz.dylib which does not get search. Critical view and DESCR field

Is there a way in xymon-4.3.0.beta3 to drop the DESCR field appearing next to the hostname on the Critical Systems view? There is not much room for test columns if the hostname + DESCR are long. Can it not behave like the --tooltips option on xymongen? Search engine is back

By popular demand, I've setup a search facility for the Xymon mail archive. The previous one used ht://Dig, which was not very good at finding the right stuff, and also very hard on the load of the system. That's why I removed it when the mailing list was moved from "hobbit" to "xymon". The new search facility uses Omega, which is based on the Xapian engine. It's Open Source, appears to provide reasonable results, and very light on the system since it can be configured to only index updates. So I hope this will make the mail archive more useful.
